Cílem práce je identifikovat chování spotřebitelů ve sdílené ekonomice a vyhodnotit potenciální dopady na cestovní ruch. Teoretická část práce předkládá souhrn dosavadních domácích i zahraničních poznatků souvisejících s touto problematikou. Praktická část práce seznamuje s výsledky vlastního výzkumu, pro který byla zvolena metoda dotazníkového šetření. V závěru dochází ke zhodnocení získaných výsledků a k formulování vlastních doporučení. Annotation The diploma thesis deals with one of the contemporary research topics which is a dynamically developing phenomena of the sharing economy. The goal is to identify consumer behaviour in the sharing economy and to evaluate its potential impacts to the tourism. The theoretical part delivers a summary of existing domestic and foreign knowledge connected to these problematics. The practical part apprises with the outcome of own research, for which a questionnaire survey method was chosen. At the end, acquired results are evaluated and own recommendations are formed. -

Hall [a]Introduction The contribution of aviation to climate change is, with a global share of just 2 per cent of emissions of CO 2 (see chapter 2, this volume), often regarded as negligible. This perspective ignores, however, the current and expected growth in air traffic, as well as its socio-cultural drivers. Aviation is a rapidly growing sector, with annual passenger growth forecasts of 4.9 per cent in the coming 20 years (Airbus 2008) In a carbon-constrained world with the ambition to reduce absolute levels of greenhouse gas emissions and limited options to technically achieve these (see chapter 13, this volume), the growth in air traveller numbers thus indicates an emerging conflict (see also chapter 4, this volume) Moreover, it becomes increasingly clear that aviation is an activity in which comparably few people participate. With regard to international aviation, it can be estimated that only about 2-3 per cent of the world’s population fly in between any two countries over one consecutive year (Peeters et al 2006), indicating that participation in air travel is highly unequally distributed on a global scale. The vast majority of air travellers currently originate from industrialized countries, even though there are some recent trends, particularly in China and India, showing rapid growth in air travel (cf. UNWTO 2007) There is also evidence that air travel is unevenly distributed within nations, particularly those with already high levels of individual mobility. In industrialized countries there is evidence of a minority of highly mobile individuals, who account for a large share of the overall kilometres travelled, especially by air. -

I know it won’t have everything that everyone wants but we are hopeful it will give people an idea of how the world of drugs is changing and highlight some of the key things that we think people can better engage with to keep themselves and those they care for safe. Once we cleaned the data from 150,000 people we chose to use data from just under 120,000 people this year for these reports. We have data reports addressing 18 different areas for over 25 countries. We can only share a fraction of what we have here on the site. However, we are very open to sharing the other findings we have and would ask researchers and public health groups to contact us so we can discuss funding and collaboration. We have almost completed designing GDS2018 so that we can start piloting early and give countries where we have not yet found friends to reach out to us. We particularly want to hear from people in Japan, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The Sharing Economy and Tourism
Briefing January 2017 Tourism and the sharing economy SUMMARY Tourism services have traditionally been provided by businesses such as hotels, taxis or tour operators. Recently, a growing number of individuals are proposing to share temporarily with tourists what they own (for example their house or car) or what they do (for example meals or excursions). This type of sharing is referred to as the 'sharing economy'. It is not limited to tourism and can be found in many areas of social and economic activity, although tourism has been one of the sectors most impacted. Sharing goods and services between individuals is nothing new in itself. However, the development of the internet and, as a consequence, the creation of online platforms have made sharing easier than ever. In the past decade, many companies managing such platforms have emerged on the market. A well-known example is a platform on which people can book accommodation (Airbnb). The sharing economy has had a positive impact on tourism as well as a negative one. Its advocates think that it provides easy access to a wide range of services that are often of higher quality and more affordable than those provided by traditional business counterparts. Critics, on the other hand, claim that the sharing economy provides unfair competition, reduces job security, avoids taxes and poses a threat to safety, health and disability compliance standards. The response to the sharing economy remains fragmented in the EU. Some activities or aspects have been regulated at national, regional or local level. In June 2016, the European Commission published a communication on a European agenda for the collaborative economy, to offer some clarification on relevant EU rules and provide public authorities with policy guidance. -

Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time. -

SCIENCE-BASED T A R G E T S WTTC HARVARD LEARNING INSIGHTS WTTC × HARVARD LEARNING INSIGHTS | BEHAVIOURAL ECONOMICS WTTC HARVARD LEARNING INSIGHTS SCIENCE-BASED TARGETS Setting science-based targets in Travel & Tourism OVERVIEW THE IMPACTS OF A CHANGING CLIMATE are apparent worldwide. For the global community to avoid irreversible damage to prosperity, people and planet, temperature rise must be limited to 1.5°C above pre- industrial levels. This requires halving global greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and meeting net-zero emissions by 2050. Science-based targets have become the globally accepted standard for companies setting carbon reduction targets. Targets are considered science-based if they align with the latest climate science on meeting the goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement1. This agreement saw almost 200 countries sign up to keep global warming well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, pursuing efforts to hold it at no more than 1.5°C. As stated in the 2018 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Special Report on Global Warming2, the transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy must be accelerated globally to hold warming to 1.5°C. The contribution of the Travel & Tourism sector to the global carbon footprint is well recognised and the necessity to cut its greenhouse gas emissions has been highlighted in several international agreements (Djerba3 & Davos4 Declarations). Travel & Climate action is a clear priority for Travel & Tourism and one it has begun to address given its contribution to greenhouse gas emissions through transport, accommodation, and other tourist activities. The sector needs to focus on greenhouse gas emissions associated with its specific products and services in setting science-based targets. -

The effectiveness and the limitations of offset programs, such as planting or protecting trees, have been evaluated by the authors of this article. It was found that most offset programs do not have the impact that is suggested. 85 percent of offset projects have a high likelihood of overestimating their effectiveness and not being additional, meaning that the project activity would have occurred even if it was not implemented as an offset project. Moreover, estimated emissions and offset costs provided by various travel companies vary greatly and are often far lower than what would be considered fair compensation. It is argued that offering offsetting as a simple, cheap option to compensate for travel emissions will help continue business as usual, with no incentive for real change and with no serious contribution to the Paris Agreement. Travellers looking for a way to address their travel impact are advised to reduce emissions first, with compensation only as a last resort. -

Danger Mouse's Grey Album, Mash-Ups, and the Age of Composition Philip A. Gunderson © 2004 Post-Modern Culture 15.1 Review of: Danger Mouse (Brian Burton), The Grey Album, Bootleg Recording 1. Depending on one's perspective, Danger Mouse's (Brian Burton's) Grey Album represents a highpoint or a nadir in the state of the recording arts in 2004. From the perspective of music fans and critics, Burton's creation--a daring "mash-up" of Jay-Z's The Black Album and the Beatles' eponymous 1969 work (popularly known as The White Album)--shows that, despite the continued corporatization of music, the DIY ethos of 1970s punk remains alive and well, manifesting in sampling and low-budget, "bedroom studio" production values. From the perspective of the recording industry, Danger Mouse's album represents the illegal plundering of some of the most valuable property in the history of pop music (the Beatles' sound recordings), the sacrilegious re-mixing of said recordings with a capella tracks of an African American rapper, and the electronic distribution of the entire album to hundreds of thousands of listeners who appear vexingly oblivious to current copyright law. That there would be a schism between the interests of consumers and the recording industry is hardly surprising; tension and antagonism characterize virtually all forms of exchange in capitalist economies. What is perhaps of note is that these tensions have escalated to the point of the abandonment of the exchange relationship itself. Music fans, fed up with the high prices (and outright price-fixing) of commercially available music, have opted to share music files via peer-to-peer file sharing networks, and record labels are attempting in response to coerce music fans back into the exchange relationship. -

Title of Thesis:Repeat-the-Beat: Industries, Genres and Citizenships in Dance Music Magazines Repeat-The-Beat: iii Abstract This thesis examines a particular cultural object: dance music magazines. It explores the co-imbrication of the magazines with dance music and considers how a reconfiguration of the field of genre theory can help to dismantle the generic separations of ‘textual’ and ‘industrial’ approaches to cultural objects. The main argument of the thesis is as follows. The magazine industries produce an object of cultural exchange which is made commercially viable through a narrowing of its target audiences. These audiences arise in the space created by the dance music industries’ negotiation of an imagined contest between 'underground' authenticity and 'mainstream' productivity. In turn, dance music magazines produce a powerfully exclusive space for the communication networks of the dance music genre by capitalising on the desire to stabilise genre and therefore taking up generic instability as a positive youth marketing strategy.
