LN PR Template NINE INCH NAILS AND SOUNDGARDEN ANNOUNCE SUMMER CO-HEADLINE TOUR - Amphitheater Tour To Visit 23 Cities Throughout North America - - Tickets Go On Sale To Public Beginning Friday, March 21 Through The Live Nation Mobile App and At LiveNation.com - LOS ANGELES (March 17, 2014) - Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden are teaming up for a North American tour that will kick off on Saturday, July 19, at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV. The co-headline run, presented by Live Nation, is their first outing together and will include shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO (July 21), the Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, NY (August 1) and the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA (August 25). Both bands will play full sets nightly. Special guest Death Grips will open on most dates. Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the public Friday, March 21, through the Live Nation mobile app and at www.livenation.com. See below for itinerary. Nine Inch Nails is considered a pioneer in the industrial music movement and has been highly influential in the evolution of electronic music. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

To ask other readers questions about Yeah! Refresh and try again. Most troubling, though, is Stanley's sometimes patronizing attitude towards women and people of colour. AM mainstream radio stations of the day ignored the vacant channels on the newer FM band. The shelves of libraries are well stocked with chunky hardbacks about the legends of rock, the story of the blues and the significance of jazz, but pop - the very stuff that turned most of us onto music in the first place - is seriously under represented.
