Government Defeat in Lords on Agriculture Bill Tuesday 22/09/2020 On 22/09/2020 the government had a defeat in the House of Lords on an amendment to the Agriculture Bill: to establish the Trade and Agriculture Commission in law, and require it to make recommendations to the Secretary of State to promote, maintain and safeguard current standards of food production through international trade policy. This was defeat number 25 in the parliamentary session.
