11 Policies and Procedures “What Ever It Takes” “Whatever It Takes” is Metro Tech’s philosophy when it comes to ensuring that students are successful. It starts with high expectations and a commitment from students to complete their homework, attend school regularly and achieve grades of “C” and above. When the weekly grade of any student enrolled in one of the freshmen and sophomore level classes falls below a “C,” the student will be required to attend our mandatory lunch time tutoring (11:30 a.m.- Metro Tech 12:00 p.m.) located in the Metro Academic Support Center, known as MASC (Room 9016). When a “C” or better is achieved, you will be given the privilege of a 50 minute lunch. We provide tutoring for students who are having difficulty with assignments or concepts. Lunch time tutoring opportunities are available Monday-Friday to any student whose grade falls below a “C” in any class. Students should speak to their teachers for before and after-school tutoring. Students who are below grade-level, are expected to access our on-line tutoring programs and work on their area of deficiency on their own-time. Our teaching staff will seek the input of students to determine how they learn best, and they will use strategies to help them better understand. We ask parents to call or email teachers and counselors often as a way to monitor their student’s progress. Parents should also ensure their student is completing their homework on a nightly basis. Our on-line, ParentVue, is another vehicle to use to monitor your student’s progress. We promise to respond to your phone calls and e-mails within 24 hours. Our number one priority is to have our students succeed, and we will do “whatever it takes” to fulfill that commitment.
