Statement of Program Service Accomplishments During Fiscal Year Ending 8/31/02

In the fiscal year September 2001 through August 2002, St Luke's Chamber Ensemble's programs were as follows

Orchestra Series: St Luke's Chamber Ensemble, in partnership with Carnegie Hall, produced three concerts featuring the Orchestra of St Luke's at Camegie Hall These concerts took place on 2 December 2001, 7 February 2002 and 18 April 2002 The orchestra performed music from the classical repertoire with guest artists and conductors Total attendance at the three concerts was 6,415

Chamber Series : St Luke's Chamber Ensemble presented three performances at Carnegie Hall's Wedl Recital Hall, three performances at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and three performances at the Dia Center for the Arts Total attendance at the nine performances m these three series was 1,972 In addition, three free concerts were held al the Temple Emanu-El Several thousand people attended these free events All of these performances featured music from the classical repertoire

Children's Free Opera and Dance Programs: In the Fall of 2001, St Luke's Chamber Ensemble presented ten performances of the Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre, eight of which were at the Sylvia & Danny Kaye Playhouse and two of which were at PS 315 in Brooklyn In the Spring of 2002, St Luke's presented eight performances of Haydn's puppet opera, Philemone & Baucis at the All performances were free to School children

Workshop Program : St Luke's Ensemble presented 833 workshops m 20 disadvantaged schools throughout New York City during 2001-2002 school year These workshops use the performances that children see through the Children's Free Opera and Dance Programs as a starting point for instruction and participation in music and movement workshops . Approximately 2,500 children participated in these workshops

Recordings : St Luke's Chamber Ensemble recorded the cycle of all six of Bach's Brandenbury Concertos for a future release The Orchestra of St Luke's recorded the soundtrack for the HBO Films special production, The Laramie Project and also Thompson's Place of the Blessed with the St Thomas Choir The Orchestra of St Luke's appeared in a television special, Christmas Glory, produced by EN in the United Kingdom

Fee Engagements: The Orchestra of St Luke's and St Luke's Chamber Ensemble were regularly hired to perform in various musical concerts presented by other arts presenters throughout the U S The orchestra appeared in 22 such performances m the New York area during the concert season, and 8 concerts outside of New York while on tour

AGREEMENT WITH A FORMER EMPLOYEE

The Organization entered into an agreement in 1995 with a former employee to make a serves of severance payments over a period of nine years, through March 2005 The present value (using a 5% discount rate) of these payments and the related payroll taxes is reflected as a liability The expense was recorded in the year ended August 31, 1995
