INTERNATIONAL STUDENT GUIDEBOOK 2015

UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA ORLANDO, FLORIDA WELCOME GLOBAL UCF STUDENTS

Global UCF students come from more than 145 countries to join the second largest university in the United States. Meet Julia, an ambitious biotechnology major with a desire to work in healthcare in Brazil. Say hello to Daniel, a computer science major from Venezuela who enjoys cultural exchange with both American and international students. And finally, here’s Daria from Russia, who aspires to be a part of the UCF student government.

Hello fellow international students—and welcome to Global UCF! I joined the Global Achievement Academy (GAA) in the summer of 2014. From the first day I arrived on campus, I felt part of a big family. I am really close So what do they love most about Global UCF? to my classmates and the Global UCF team—which was surprising, but so cool! I’m now part of the GO-Team, a group of international and American students who give advice to new GAA students on student life and help them to build networks within the university. So, I look forward to welcoming you in person to our campus. Go Knights!

My first UCF tradition to share with you: UCF students call themselves ‘Knights’ after the university’s sports teams—all of which are referred to as the UCF Knights. The official UCF mascot is a Knight called , he’s in the photo above with me.

See you soon!
