WKU Chorale to Tour Italy in 2008 The WKU Chorale, which makes its debut this season as the department's ftagship choral ensemble, will tour Northern Italy in May 2008. The trip will take the 35 singers to perform in such places as Florence, Milan, Venice, Tirol and Innsbruck, Austria. This will provide the students an exceptional opportunity to study abroad and perform in some of the cities in which a great amount of choral literature was written, sometimes in the cathedrals in which they were premiered. As President Ransdell states, this trip w ill directly help WKU's "international reach" mission. A limited number of places on this trip arc being held open for alumni. If you are interested in being a part of this trip. or if you would like 10 help defray the costs of the trip for members of the chorus, please contact Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Paul Hondorp, by phone (270 745-5923) or by email [email protected]. ble the TrebleMakers, has The WKU female a cappel/a enscm the campus and in the quickly become well respected on The WKU male a cappella group, the RedShirt s, was the first such vocal community. ensemble established on campus since the arrival of Paul Hondorp, " J Wele music educalion, Rockport, ',N; who coaches both groups. -bleA/akers /10 r: El,zabell .
