7 Teaching Activity TU Vienna, GUC (German University Cairo)

Contemporary academic teaching builds upon a historical- social foundation, thinks in a contemporary context and shapes the future picture of architectural/urban development through design, theoretical considerations and research.

The teaching concept is influenced by the understanding of the effects on architecture and the urban. A teaching programme should therefore be consistent, but in now way rigid.

The search for possibilities of architectural expression does not necessarily entail following every approach, but it does require a critical view of approaches. Why we build is a more legitimate question than simply whether to build.
