Living and working in the community means that we are aware of your concerns and local needs, Council continues to advocate to ensure our State roads are fit for purpose, are safe so that we can retain our current speed limits. The criteria that defines a volunteer is endless. There are not too many countries in the world that can boast the mateship and generosity through volunteering that is known Australia wide. Our Council boasts that we have seven schools in our Council area and as part of those schools we see vibrant communities scattered across the District. This brings a real sense of belonging. Lifestyle choice is an indication of how our District is continuing to thrive. Richard Sage MAYOR 4 DISTRICT COUNCIL OF GRANT Acting Chief Executive Officer Report The $1.2M revitalisation of the Port MacDonnell foreshore was co-funded between Council and the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and includes a plaza, boardwalk, seating and shelters, refurbished public toilet facilities, new public art, foreshore landscaping and improved beach access. Council are currently working on developing the project plan for Stage 2, which will feature a new regional playground adjacent to the redeveloped foreshore area. Implementation of projects listed in the Port MacDonnell and River and Coastal Master Plans has continued with town entrance signage, new shelter and carpark at Racecourse Bay and a Jane Fetherstonhaugh shelter at Nene Valley.
