A Season Litany

by the Reverend Canon Gene Packwood, Diocese of Calgary

(to be used on the four Sundays between All Saints and Advent, or other times as appropriate)

All your works praise you, O Lord, And your faithful servants bless you. They make known the glory of your kingdom And speak of your power; That the peoples may know of your power And the glorious splendour of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; Your dominion endures throughout all ages.

Lord, remember us in your kingdom, And teach us to pray. As we grow to be a people who know, love, and follow Jesus in serving your mission: your will be done, Your kingdom come.

As we proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God revealed in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ: your will be done, Your kingdom come.

As we invite, teach, baptize and nurture new believers: your will be done, Your kingdom come.

As we respond to human need by loving service: your will be done, Your kingdom come.

As we seek to transform unjust structures of society; challenging violence of every kind, pursuing peace and reconciliation: your will be done, Your kingdom come.

As we safeguard the integrity of your creation: your will be done, Your kingdom come.

Lead us in the way of service, That your kingdom may be known on earth.

For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, Now and forever. Amen.
