A DAY IN THE LIFE OF IBRAHIM AL SUWAIDI

I DO: I joined Dolphin Energy more than 10 years ago as an engineer. During my early days, I was seconded to Total for a year, where I worked across several departments - the process department in Paris, the operation support department at Pau, as well as the exploration and production department at Den Helder. This experience allowed me to develop a unique skill set and widen my knowledge and exposure to gas production and distribution. When I returned to Dolphin Energy, I worked with the Projects team, focusing on the construction of the Taweelah Receiving Facilities. Soon after construction completion, I was awarded with a one year scholarship program by Total to pursue a Masters degree in Marketing Management. After graduating, I came back from France and was promoted to Deputy Manager of the Technical Services Department, providing support and services to other peer departments. Over the years, I have moved between Technical Services and Projects, which has allowed me to attain a wide range Ibrahim’s children during Eid of skills. From my time with the Projects team, I learned to adapt and work under tight deadlines, as well as manage contractors and meet challenges within a short time frame. My experience with Technical Services has taught me to I AM: work hand in hand with other departments, to manage their I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in the United requests and try to meet their expectations. It’s a thrilling experience and for all those who haven’t tried skiing, you’re missing out! During the 5 years at university, I lived with a Mormon family, who were very welcoming to me. Despite our clear religious differences, they were respectful, kind and curious about Islam. I will never forget how hospitable and warm they were to me. On a personal level, I’m a calm and easy going person. It takes a lot to anger me. In my free time, I like to go fishing or play football. At one point in my younger years, I wanted to become a professional football player. Luckily, I listened to my wise parents and opted for an engineering career. I’m happily married and have four beautiful children, who make me a proud father. I ASPIRE: I dream that my children will have even better opportunities in their lives and careers. The future is always uncertain, and all I wish for is their happiness and stability. In my life, I hope to help as many people as possible.
