Do I Have To Do Everything My Fucking Self?! Written by : Reg Vermue Director: Adam Lazarus On Stage at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival July 15th-26th, Son Of Warehouse, 140 Rupert Ave. The one woman cabaret ‘Do I Have To Do Everything My Fucking Self?’ by Regina a.k.a. the alter ego of indie musician Gentleman Reg premiered at the Rhubarb festival in 2014 and was subsequently selected for both a remount at the 2014 SummerWorks festival followed by the Scene Festival at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa in 2015. Given four NNNN’s by NOW Magazine’s Glenn Sumi who said ‘Regina has a fierce vocal presence…and takes us on a gloriously entertaining trip’. The show features comedy based storytelling, interspersed with songs by Light Fires, the electronic dance act Regina created with James Bunton (Ohbijou). Loosely modelled after live shows by Sandra Bernhard and Jusitn Vivian Bond, where you get to know the performer through their stories, jokes and songs, this is similarly a ‘night with Regina’ kind of framework. Autobiographical, fictional, non-linear, bits of improv, standup and dance, the show has all of this and more. You already need her, and you haven’t even met, her, yet. Reg Vermue has been releasing albums as Gentleman Reg since 2000 on some of the most seminal labels in Canada, such as Three Gut Records and Arts & Crafts. He has also been a part time member of The Hidden Cameras for the past decade and frequent guest vocalist with Broken Social Scene. More recently he has been devoting his time to his alter ego Regina and her band Light Fires, which is comprised of Regina and her writing partner James Bunton (Ohbijou). With her band Light Fires, Regina has toured Canada and Europe extensively, re- leased a 7" Single for "Ten Feet Tall / If You're Bored", starred in six music videos, including Kevin Drew’s ‘Mexican Aftershow Party’, and has shared stages with the likes of Diamond Rings, Peaches, Fucked Up, The Handsome Furs, Big Freedia, and Margaret Atwood! In July of 2013, Light Fires released their much anticipated debut album entitled "FACE", featuring the debut single ‘Dependent’ a duet with . Along with her debut one woman cabaret show which premiered in 2015 at the Rhubarb Festival, Regina has a role in the upcoming fea- ture length film ‘Portrait Of A Serial Monogamist’ premiering at festivals in 2015.
