Over 30 years, you’ve fought with integrity to grow our shared vision of a more competitive, robust health insurance industry. In the process, you’ve helped Wisconsin’s community-based health plans bring higher quality, lower cost health care to state government programs, commercial employers and millions of individuals. Tommy Thompson Governor: 1987 – 2001 Happy anniversary to the members and staff of the Wisconsin Association of Health Plans. With your help, we created BadgerCare and gave low-income families access to better quality health care. Together, we showed the rest of the country that quality, and an emphasis on primary care and prevention, is the best medicine. Scott McCallum Governor: 2001 – 2002 Congratulations to the Wisconsin Association of Health Plans on your many successes in over 30 years of advocating for Wisconsin’s community-based health plans and a vigorous health insurance market. Your dedication and effective advocacy helped Wisconsin maintain one of the lowest uninsured rates in the country and preserve a high quality of life for its citizens. Jim Doyle Governor: 2003 – 2010 Congratulations on 30 years of promoting sound public policy in Wisconsin. The Association is a strong advocate for Wisconsin’s community-based health plans and a credible resource for state policymakers. Thanks to your vision and diligence, we transformed the Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan into an effective public- private program that became a model for the rest of the nation.
