Minister for Climate Change (Mr. Zahid Hamid): (a) & (b) No international appeal for donation was made by Government of Pakistan; hence no amount was received from any country/local donors after earthquake 2015. 181. *Ms. Sajida Begum: Will the Minister In-charge of the Aviation Division be pleased to state the steps being taken by the Government to improve the security at Airports and to improve the performance of employees of the Pakistan International Airlines? @ Transferred from Prime Minister office. 3 Minister In-charge of the Aviation Division: The security at Airports has been intensified and the capability of ASF personnel has been enhanced to pre-empt and counter any terrorist attack. In this connection, ASF has acquired modern Aviation Security gadgets and screening equipment with the cooperation of Governments of Japan and Bahrain for security of airports. 2. In addition, Integrated Security System (ISS) has been installed at Lahore Airport which covers 10.5 Km area of the perimeter. This is a state of the art, multi-layered system for provision of impeccable security. 3. Moreover, Following Arms/Ammunition and Vehicles have been procured during the last year and being procured in current financial year to enhance security cover to the airports:— a. Procured from Last Year Budget 1. Dragoon APC B7 - 10 2. SMG Rifle — China - 1615 3. Sniper Rifle - 20 4. Single Cabin Veh (QRF) - 25 5. Double Cabin Veh (Ops) - 10 b. Sniper Rifle USA - 50 7. Pistol USA - 50 The Improvements in the Performance of PIACL Employees. A number of steps have recently been taken by the Management of PIACL to enhance the performance of their employees and to boost their morale as well as their well-being, which ultimately contributes to overall operational efficiency and efficacy of the Organization. Salients of which are enumerated hereunder:— 4 (i). A Festival Allowance has been introduced for all staff cadre employees, which is admissible to them on major religious festivals like Eid, Christmas, and Diwali etc, according to the respective religion. (ii). Medical facilities have further been augmented by allowing lifetime admissibility of this facility to special children of employees. (iii). A handsome salary raise has recently been granted to staff cadre employees at the rate of 50% for PG-I and PG II employees and at the rate of 45% for PG-III and PG-IV employees. (iv). Ad hoc salary raise at the rate of 17% has been granted to Officer cadre employees whereas negotiations are currently underway with the representative association of PIA officers, for a practicable increase in their salaries. (v). Different motivational course and trainings have been designed and are being imparted to employees in addition to their regular mandatory courses and trainings w.r.t their respective trades, with a particular focus on customer services. 182. *Ms. Sajida Begum: Will the Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage be pleased to state the steps taken by the present Government for safety and security of the Journalists? Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage (Mr. Pervaiz Rashid): The present Government considers media as an important instrument for strengthening democracy and is taking all possible measures for protection and safety of journalists in the country. It has taken the following major steps for ensuring safety and security of the Journalists. (a) Constitution of Ministerial Media Security Committee. (b) Setting up of hot line for journalists. (c) Urgent Hearing of Court Cases of affected journalists. The detail of these steps is given at Annex-‘A’ & B’ respectively. 5 It may be further informed that a meeting of sub-Committee on Media Security to address the issues related to security of Media Houses and Insurance of journalists was held under the chairmanship of DG/P1O at PID, on 15-12-2015 which was attended by Mr. Khushnood Ali Khan, APNS, Mr. Mehtab Ali Khan, CPNE, Mr. Agha Bilal, PBA, and senior officers of Ministry of I,B&NH and PID, the details of which are as under: a. Representative of CPNE appreciated steps taken by the ICT to conduct the security audit of the Media Houses and training provided to the security guards. b. Media organizations assured that they will call their in-house meetings to discuss the matter regarding insurance of working journalists through EOBI. c. Similar actions have also been taken by Regional Information Offices (RIOs) PID in their respective provinces by conducting security audit of Media Houses at provincial level. (Annexure has been placed in the National Assembly Library). 183. *Ms. Naseema: Will the Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that there is shortage of Universities especially for Women in Balochistan at present; and (b) the steps being taken by the Government to establish Women Universities in the said province? Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training: (a) Yes; given size vis-a-vis distribution of population in the Province of Balochistan, it can be said that access to higher education is not evenly spread in province. Presently, 10 Universities and sub campuses in public and private sector are offering higher education to the students of Balochistan including one women university in public sector i.e. Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Quetta. All other Universities are open to the students of either gender (Annex-I). 6 HEC has also planned a new University at Sibi and project for its establishment has been approved on October 29, 2015. The charter of University is in process with provincial government. ( b) Government of Pakistan in its long term Vision 2025 has set certain Pillars for growth and development of the country. Realizing that knowledge has become the key driver for socio-economic development in the globalized world, “People First: Developing social and human capital” has been identified as very first of the seven Pillars of the Vision 2025. In view of the above and to implement Vision 2025, Higher Education Commission has completed a mapping exercise to determine feasibility of setting up universities or sub-campuses across the province which is being discussed with the Provincial Government in accordance with the Government’s initiative to establish a university or sub-campus ,is in each district of the country. Establishment of Women University or a sub-campus of Women University would be decided in accordance with the feasibility and recommendation of the Provincial Government. Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the emotional intelligence in university graduates at Quetta specifically with respect to its traits like maturity, motivation, self-control and social stability in order to attain overall personality development. A cross-sectional survey design in the form of self-report questionnaire was used to examine variables i.e. maturity, motivation, self-control and social stability to stimulate personality development. Eight faculties of two public sector universities were selected through proportionate sampling and further random sampling technique was used to select 200 respondents as a sample sizeand the observed response rate was 88% (176 out of 200).All the responses were analyzed by using SPSS soft wear (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Chi-square tests and descriptive statistics were applied to analyze data. the reported chi- square values were found highly significant (i.e.; p <0.05) for most of the responses indicating maturity, motivation, self-control and social stability, which ensures the presence of different traits at high level among university graduates which ultimately promote personality development. 2 Key Words: Emotional Intelligence, personality development, university graduates.
