This year during Lent, as a parish family we are invited to take part in our parish’ Lenten program called Living the Eucharist. The celebration of the Eucharist is at the center of our life and the center of our prayer and spirituality as Catholic Christians. “Living the Eucharist is a dynamic, parish-based program designed to help revitalize parish life and mission through a more profound experience of Sunday Mass. It helps the entire parish—adults, teens, and families—grow in their Catholic faith and live more fully as missionary disciples of Jesus” (livingtheeucharist.org).

There are many paths to holiness and Lent is a time to increase our focus on the things that may be separating us from God’s grace. Typically, we think of giving something up through prayer, fasting, and charitable works. This Lent, we are invited to reflect more deeply on the Eucharist. As we approach the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday, March 6, it may benefit us to have a plan to do something that would help all of us learn more about the faith we profess and to learn how to grow closer to God. Would you be interested in learning more about the faith through understanding the meaning and purpose of the Eucharist? Living the Eucharist (LE for short) program our parish is offering for our Lenten journey is tailored to shed light on Catholic living and hopefully enhance, nourish and deepen our spirituality. Once a week during Lent you can participate as an individual or family by reading the materials and gathering in small faith sharing groups for adults or teenagers or families. A daily reflection book for individuals like the blue or black books for Advent and Lent will be provided. There are options for everyone:• • • Adult and teen small groups that meet once a week Daily devotional readings and praying with the Scriptures Activities for the families in their own home Are you ready to learn more about the LE program? Please complete the form on the back of this announcement and return it to the LE box in the Church gathering space or the parish center or fax it to 516 938-6241 by Sunday, February 24, 2019. The information we gather will help the parish coordinators to plan the training session for the group leaders. Once established the group leaders will contact each of their groups to make arrangements for the weekly discussion meetings. Each person who is interested will have the opportunity to join a group formed by the coordinators or form their own groups. You can also get more information and watch videos about the program on the Living the Eucharist website – http://www.livingtheeucharist.org or contact the coordinators - Sal Restivo – [email protected] , Margie Restivo – [email protected] and Fr.
