Race Day Parking - The park entry fee will be waived until 7:15am for everyone, however anyone who arrives after 7:15am should be prepared to pay the regular park entrance fee. Athletes and spectators will follow parking attendants in the morning to the Reservoir’s north or south overflow lots. Water Temp & Sunday’s Expected Weather Forecast – The air temperature on Sunday is expected to reach 88°F by midday. Boulder Reservoir's water temperature is 77°F (as of July 13th). Transition - Only participants will be allowed in transition. If you would like to see your family and friends, make sure they are on the other side of the barricades. -

The Spindle MAY 2015 cycleclubsudbury.com What a difference a month makes, as the temperatures pass double figures everyday and getting dressed for a bike ride doesn’t involve wrapping up with multiple layers of restrictive clothing. The season is well underway with the 2nd of our own CCS organised Audax on the horizon at the end of this month (30th May) from Long Melford. Andrew Hoppit has regained the organiser’s reins from Peter Whiteley who ran quite superb events while he was in charge. More info in the Diary section! The Thursday Evening Time Trial Series is already in its 2nd week and judging by the large field that assembled on the 1st week, it will be another unqualified success this year. With Brian Webber at the helm, what else could it be! The Juniors have restarted their activities and I understand there is room for even more participants, so are there any sons, daughters or grandchildren from club members (or friends) who might benefit from some expert training on the bike? We have another British Cycling recently qualified coach in the perfectly formed shape of David Fenn to help with proceedings so there’s no excuse for not using the facilities on offer. Open Time Trials continue to attract a good following from CCS members and already some quick times have been recorded which is fairly unusual so early in the season. Their winter training is producing the desired effect apparently. David Fenn’s thoughts on his 1st Open 25 mile TT for 37 years is a good motivator to us all, whatever age we are! I have included an article from Jody Downs (Robins Row Insurance) who has highlighted the ‘possible need’ for riders to have personal accident insurance. -

JSP 660 Sport in the UK Armed Forces Part 1: Directive JSP 660 Pt 1 (V2.2 Oct 19) Foreword People lie at the heart of operational capability; attracting and retaining the right numbers of capable, motivated individuals to deliver Defence outputs is critical. This is dependent upon maintaining a credible and realistic offer that earns and retains the trust of people in Defence. In order to achieve this, all personnel must be confident that, not only will they be treated fairly, but also that their families will be treated properly and that Service veterans and their dependants will be respected and appropriately supported. Sport makes a significant contribution to the delivery of operational capability; indeed it is a core activity in the UK Armed Forces. I am therefore most eager to encourage the active participation of all ranks at all levels of sport. I am aware that the majority of sport is organised by Service personnel on a voluntary basis; knowledge of, and access to, the necessary regulation of activities can be difficult. This important document brings together the policies for, and detailed guidance on, the conduct of sport in the UK Armed Forces. I commend it to all your staff involved in sporting activity and in particular to your sports association officials who deliver sport at and above unit level. INTERNATIONAL KART FEDERATION 2021 COMPETITION REGULATIONS AND TECHNICAL MANUAL READ THIS DISCLAIMER BEFORE PROCEEDING The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against property damage, injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. The sport of karting has inherent risks. One who participates in the sport of karting does so with the assumption of those risks, including mechanical failures which may result in injury or damage. Use of this Rule Book is with the express understanding that the responsibility for the condition and operation of a kart or any other kind of vehicle in competition is that of the owner and/or driver of the kart or other vehicle. While IKF seeks to communicate its 50 years of experience to all sectors of the sport, to protect the outstanding safety record of karting, and to maintain the integrity of the sport, IKF takes no responsibility for the maintenance of, inspection of, nor individual responsibility for each owner/driver maintaining or operating their own karts. This Rule Book seeks to enhance the sport of karting, with standardized mechanical components and overall safe operation practices.
