Panyik On-To Conference Chair Rotary Foundation Chair Training Officer Reid Conklin Past President Sergeant-at-Arms Jennifer C Pennington Club Director Terry Lawler Club Programs Chair Rotary Club Honors January and February 2021 Students-of-the-Month Robert Shannon Osborne The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties is pleased to announce the following Students-of-the-Month for January Past President 2021 Bryce Johnson (Gatewood Schools), Treneice Grimes (Greene County High School), Braden Strickland (Lake Oconee Club Executive Secretary Academy), Lauren Lindsey (Nathanael Greene Academy), and Ashley Ventura (Putnam County High School) and for Webmaster February 2021: Jayson Burner (Gatewood Schools), Shakira Dennis (Greene County High School), Kala Jo Ogletree (Lake DG Tina D. Fischlin Oconee Academy), Jill Crumbley (Nathanael Greene Academy), and Annabell Sapp (Putnam County High School) Past President International Service Chair Bryce Johnson is a senior at Gatewood Schools. Bryce�s parents are Mark and Lynn Johnson. He plays football, baseball, basketball, track, and shotgun at Gatewood. Bryce has won eight state championships and has many All State and All Region selections. Bryce was voted Best All Around and Most Attractive by his classmates. He plans to attend the Barbara Fisher University of Georgia in the fall and major in Sports Management unless he decides to pursue a collegiate sport. Bryce International Service Chair chose Jeff Ratliff as his Teacher-of-the-Month. Treneice Ireial Grimes is the daughter of Necotia Grimes and has a GPA of 4.2. A member of the UGA Upward Bound Patricia L. Ware program, Treneice is also a member of the GCHS work-based learning team and Interact Club. A senior member of the Past President GCHS Track and Field Team, she is environmentally conscious of a healthy climate that supports athleticism. While her ROCK Co-Champion favorite hobby is spending time with family, she also enjoys working, shopping, and hanging out with friends. Treneice Vocational Service Chair will attend Kennesaw State University with the goal to earn a B.S. degree in Information Technology. She chose Janna Frederick as her Teacher-of-the-Month. Thomas P. Cornelia Past President Interact Club Sponsor Braden Strickland is a senior at Lake Oconee Academy. Braden�s parents are Marc and Cristan Strickland. He is a high Youth Services Chair honor roll student, member of the Beta Club, LOA Shotgun Team, and is a trombonist in the LOA Band. Braden also volunteers as a science tutor and is in a local quartet. After high school, Braden plans to attend Georgia Institute of Donna H O'Neal Technology where he aspires to obtain a degree in Chemistry. He chose Kris Stevens as his Teacher-of-the-Month. iPast President Lauren Lindsey is a senior at Nathanael Greene Academy. Lauren�s parents are Donnie Harrison and Kim Lindsey. Lauren is a member in sports, One-Act play, Beta Club, Literary, and is the president of the senior class. This year, she Birthdays was selected as homecoming queen and Miss NGA. After high school, Lauren plans to attend Georgia Military College and receive her Business Management degree. She chose Rhonda Byce as her Teacher-of-the-Month. Anjanette Brown February 19th Jeanne Rowland Ashley Ventura is a senior at PCHS. Her parent is Maribel Beristain. An honor roll student, Ashley is a member of HOSA February 25th Club, peer counseling, and golf team. She enjoys working at The Harbor at Harmony Crossings and hanging out with her Rick S Thompson friends. Melissa Harvey is someone she respects the most because of her positive attitude and teaching what she loves. February 28th Because of this, Ashley chose Melissa Harvey as her Teacher-of-the-Month. After high school, Ashley plans to attend Clarence Lee Rhodes III Georgia State University and pursue a degree in Nursing. Ashley sees herself as a RN in 10 years. March 2nd Lu Frier Byrd March 6th Jayson Burner is a senior at Gatewood Schools. His parents are Troy and Terri Burner. An honor roll student, Jayson is a Robert Shannon Osborne member of the Anchor Club, president of the Interact Club, and member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He plays March 7th football, basketball, baseball, and golf at Gatewood. He was a member of three State Championship football teams. Michelle King Tanner-Baird Jayson plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall and is undecided in his major. Jayson is also going to attempt March 16th to walk on to the football team at Georgia as a kicker and punter. He close Beth Moss as his Teacher-of-the-Month. District Leaders Command Chief Master Sergeant Shakira Dennis has been actively involved in AFJROTC for four years and has risen to the position of Command Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank in the corps. In this position, she is responsible DG Tina D. Fischlin for the morale and welfare of 45 other high school cadets. Over the years, she has been selected as Cadet of the Month. District Governor She has also received the National Tuskegee Airman Inc. Award for sustained superior performance in the cadet corps Michael L. Berg exemplified through outstanding leadership, AFJROTC participation, academic performance, and service to the community, District Governor-Elect school, and unit. She is a member of the Color Guard, Sabre Team, Dance Line, UGA Leadership, Interact Club, and is a Gerry Taylor District Governor-Nominee cheerleader. Shakira has earned over 53 hours of community service and over five hours of leadership development. The David Thomas Upchurch daughter of Mary Parks and Earnest Dennis, Shakira plans to attend Georgia Gwinnett College and study Early Childhood District Communications Officer Education. Shakira has chosen Sergeant Miley as her Teacher-of-the-Month. Randy Redner District Feed10Million Chair Kala Jo Ogletree is a senior at Lake Oconee Academy. Kala Jo�s parents are Pete and Edna Ogletree. While obtaining all Chad Bingham A�s throughout high school, Kala has also been a part of the varsity softball and basketball teams, the LOA Miracle District Membership Chair Organization, and the LOA theatre club. Kala also babysits during her free time. She loves hanging out with her family Brandy Lynn Swanson and friends and helping her dad around the farm. She describes her personality as �outgoing� and �happy�. After District Public Image/PR Chair high school, Kala plans to attend Augusta University and pursue a degree in business. Kala Jo chose Erin Howell as her Bruce Allen Azevedo District Rotary Foundation Chair Teacher-of-the-Month. Jill Crumbley is a junior at NGA. Her parents are Haywood and Diana Crumbley. She is a member of Beta Club, yearbook staff, volleyball team, basketball team, and tennis team. She is also involved in the One Act play and literary. Jill enjoys reading, riding horses, and going to youth group on Wednesday nights. After high school, Jill plans to become a physician�s assistant. She chose Joe Dodson as her Teacher-of-the-Month. Annabell Sapp is a senior at PCHS. As an honor roll student, she is a member of the Beta Club and International Thespian Society. She spends a majority of her time with the theatre department and the local volunteer fire department. She values her ability to make connections and produce stories. Annabell helps head the Mentor Program in her theatre troupe and is a well-respected pet and house sitter in her community. After high school, Annabell plans to attend Lagrange College and pursue a B.A. in Theatre Arts. She hopes to see herself on or backstage in 10 years. She chose Anna Brock as her Teacher-of-the-Month.
