Bennie and the Jets Elton John Piano Bennie and the jets elton john piano Continue With the May 31 release of Rocketman - as well as the live-action Lion King, for that matter - Elton John is about to have a major resurgence in popularity. And while fans who have continued to follow the musician throughout his career certainly know what he's up to, the flashy bayopik may have others wondering what he's going on these days, and whether they can get tickets to see him live someday soon. Wasn't there talk of Elton John leaving? Yes. Yes, he was. In January 2018, John announced that he was retiring from touring, but not immediately. Obviously, first he would have to go on a 300-date final tour lasting three years. The tour, called Farewell Yellow Brick Road, kicked off in September 2018 and will conclude in December 2021 with a show at The O2 in London. The tour will take him to North America, Europe and Oceania. But while John is about to retire from touring, he's not leaving making music. The 72-year-old made it very clear when he announced the tour during a big event in New York. When I say I'm staying touring, I don't stop the music, he told Anderson Cooper, who hosted the event. I'll hopefully make more entries. I'll be writing more musicals, or I'll be doing more exhibitions with our photography, but mostly I'll be taking my child to the football academy, which is the most important thing. Stuart C. Wilson/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images And his children with husband David Furnish are the reason why John decided to throw in the towel on tour. My priorities have changed in my life, he explained. Ten years ago, if you had said I was going to stop touring, I would have said, no, no. I'm a working musician. I always play. But we had kids, and it changed our lives. And in 2015, David and I sat down with their school schedule, and I thought I didn't want to miss too much of it. John and Furnish have two children: six-year-old Elijah and eight-year-old zakari. The singer spoke about his family to Us Weekly in February and explained that his children are pretty grounded when it comes to his fame. They know that Dad is famous, but ... when we summer and people take our photo or ask for a photo, they say: Why do they want your picture? And we always say, Because people like my music. He added: They know what Dad is doing, but I never bring Elton home. I'm trying to keep Elton on stage. Although it's clear that John doesn't plan to stop working just because he won't be touring doesn't even mean he'll stop performing. In the same interview, Us Weekly reported that John said he could be open to considering another residence once the dust settles. However, during his announcement of the event he said he would not return to the decision not to tour anymore. I'm not going to be one of those who say I'm going to do a world tour and then then Pension. I'm not Cher, John said. (Since her farewell tour ended in 2005, Cher has toured two more times. John did previously announce that he was retiring from performing, too, back in 1977.) Even though I like to wear her clothes. So that's the end. If you want to see John, all dates and tickets are listed here. This will be your last chance. (Well, maybe.) Few celebrities were as close to the royal family as Elton John. Megxit, the controversial decision by Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, to give up their expected roles in the royal family has inspired rampant speculation. This raises the question: Did John know about Magxite before the queen Elizabeth II did? Elton John performs in London, England Ian Gavan /Getty Images for Harlequins When did Elton John learn about Megxit? The Evening Standard quotes one of John's press reports as saying: 'Elton supports the fact that Harry and Meghan are remarkably taking control of their own lives. He cares for both of them and their family deeply and fully supports whatever decisions the couple makes, knowing that they are made by them alone, without external influence and with their future happiness and well-being in mind. A representative for John told Fox News how the singer learned about Megxit. They said: 'The first thing Elton heard about the details and timing of Harry and Meghan's plans was when the ad appeared on their Instagram. It came as a surprise to him. Did Elton John have a role in Meggsite? Karwai Tang/WireImage Spokesman's words may contradict Jezaveli's report. The site quoted a source who said that Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex had made their decision alone, but (John) had a shoulder to lean on and listened as they talked about their plans. The source added: So while he would never tell them what to do, he was listening to ear and support throughout. Is Elton John there for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? The source also said that John was a constant supporter for Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex. The source said John was their rock. Crocodile stone, maybe? Are Harry and Meghan even old enough to get this link? Whether he had a foresight or not, Elton John seems to have a close relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Michael Putland/Getty Images While Fox News and Jezebel offer conflicting accounts about John's knowledge of Megxit, they seem to agree the legendary glam rock singer is a major figure in Harry's and Meghan's life. Fox News quoted a source saying: Elton speaks to Harry and Meghan every day. He is an inspiration, almost a maternal figure. The same source said: John is a constant support, especially Megan, and very protective of them both. Perhaps John is a constant source of support for Megan because of their similar life paths. As and the Duchess of Sussex knows what it's like to make a living in show business, given Meghan's past as a film and television actress. John also knows what it's like to deal with the scrutiny around his love life, since his marriages have been tabloid fodder for decades. Another important aspect of the similarity between John and Megan is that they both inspire their fans through their charity work and humanism. Harry and Meghan are going through something unprecedented in the modern royal family. Who knows where they'll go next? At least their struggle could serve as the basis for John's great song. Elton John is a legendary singer who touched people with his music for almost five decades. Now 72 years old, John has lived a very long and fulfilling life. However, like many people, he has his share of regrets as well. John recently spoke about his greatest regret in life and how he was able to use forever the wisdom he had gained from that experience. Elton John's biggest regret is taking elton John's drug with Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images To promote his new autobiography, I, John Sat down with NBC Today to share some tidbits about his life. When asked about his biggest regret, John shared that it was drugs. In particular, he regretted that he had been addicted to cocaine in the 1970s and 1980s. He shared on Today that he started taking cocaine after someone he knew said it makes you feel free. Although John was a successful musician at a time when he was not performing on stage, he was often a closed and reclusive. Thus, the fact that cocaine could change his personality was attractive to him. John eventually got hooked on cocaine. I thought: This is the drug that opened me up. I can talk, I can be wordy, he explained. According to John, cocaine use was so frequent that he was even very close to death. However, even then, it didn't make him want to stop. John said: I'm going to have an epileptic seizure and blue, and people will find me on the floor and put me to bed, and in 40 minutes I'll snort with another line. And while cocaine made him a more open person at first, over time he retired from other people and was just interested in locking himself in his room to use the drug. Elton John became sober after his close friend John's death life was in chaos due to his cocaine use, but he received a wake-up call in 1990 when his friend, Ryan White, died of AIDS. White was a teenager who became known for contracting HIV from a blood transfusion due to haemophilia. For John, the death of his former friend made him realize how ungrateful he was in life. He recalled today: Returning to the hotel and complaining about decor in the room, and think: You are the most little bastard. You're complaining about everything. This boy has never complained of HIV and AIDS infection as a result of blood transfusions. He never complained, he only encouraged people... You're a piece of sh-t. Six months later, John began his sobriety process. He has since been sober for nearly three decades. Today Elton John focuses on philanthropy and being a father It's hard to say what John's life would have been like if he hadn't stayed away from cocaine, although John shared that he is now grateful for the opportunity to stay alive after all these years.

  • English Music Elton John Part 2
English Music Elton John Part 2 In 1967, John answered an ad for a songwriter for Liberty Records. He got the job and soon teamed up with lyricist Bernie Taupin. The duo switched to the DJM label the following year, writing songs for other artists. John got his first break as a singer with his 1969 album Empty Sky, featuring songs by John and Taupin. While that recording failed to catch on, his 1970 self-titled effort featured John’s first hit “Your Song.” More hits soon followed, including such number- one smashes as “Crocodile Rock,” “Bennie and the Jets” and “Island Girl.” John enjoyed a series of top-selling albums during this time, including Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (1973) and Rock of the Westies (1975). As one of the top acts of the 1970s, Elton John became equally famous for his live shows. He dressed in fabulous, over-the-top costumes and glasses for his elaborate concerts. In an interview with W, John explained that “I wasn’t a sex symbol like Bowie, Marc Bolan or Freddie Mercury, so I dressed more on the humorous side, because if I was going to be stuck at the piano for two hours, I was going to make people look at me.” Elton John – Your Song It’s a little bit funny this feeling inside I’m not one of those who can easily hide I don’t have much money but boy if I did I’d buy a big house where we both could live If I was a sculptor, but then again, no Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show I know it’s not much but it’s the best I can do My gift is my song and this one’s for you And you can tell everybody this is your
