Filming ended in June 2015, and the film was released on October 16, 2015. The film features an ensemble cast of eleven main female characters led by Rituparna Sengupta, as well as stars Suswata Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Jisshu Sengupta, Abir Chatterjee and Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan in other key roles. It was remade in Hindi Mukherjee as Begum Yaan. Plot In August 1947, the British passed a bill on the partition of Bengal. Delving into the bleak story of the section, Srijita Radhakini's film weaves around the border between the two countries, which runs through a brothel housing eleven women. Bengal was defeated twice (1905 and then during independence) - officially for demographic reasons and the simplicity of the administration - but in fact, it was a purely political step to limit Bengali policy. The narrative follows the construction of the Radcliffe Line as a boundary between the newly formed peoples of India and East Pakistan (modern Bangladesh). As Congress and the Muslim League battle it out in courtrooms about which side of Bengal will get, which territory, in another part of the Bengal brothel, located right in the center of the Debigange and Haldibari districts, which is home and peace to eleven women and two men. Begum Yaan (Rituparna) is the boss, while other women work under her as prostitutes. Begum's faithful bodyguard is Salim Mirza (Nigel Akkara), patan, and Sujan (Rudranil Ghosh) as a servant and entertainer. Begum Jaan is not worried about the Indian subcontinent or Pakistan, she is only concerned about her business, which is not working well because of the partition and the resulting unrest. Local master and congressman (Abir Chatterjee) from time to time visits a brothel with gifts for everyone. Meanwhile, the political sky is darkening. Radcliffe's line runs between Debiganj and Haldibari, the first of which is in East Pakistan and the second remains in India. Mr. Professorullo Sen (Saswata) from Congress, Mr. Ilias (Kaushik Sen.) of the Muslim League (who were childhood friends but are now separated) meet and discuss the resettlement of residents of the two districts. They discover that in their course, the boundary line was drawn right through the middle of the brothel Bymm Yaan. They meet Begum Yaan and tell her to evacuate her brothel with their women who refuse to budge. Meanwhile, Nawab Rangpura (Rajatawa Dutta) moved with his family and followers to West Bengal, where he stayed in a brothel for the night. Begum Yaan complained to him about Mr. Sen and Mr. Elias in order to get them out of the respective parties. Visiting Delhi for a meeting of the rulers of the princely states, he informed Begum that he was no longer an influential man, and the princely states were integrated into the Indian Union, and the names were revoked. Begum decided to fight her battle. Outraged by the vain attempts to evict Begum and her women from their homes, Pafullah and Ilias seek help from Kabir (Jish Sengupta), the leader of the criminal gang. Kabir and his gang commit all sorts of heinous crimes in these turbulent times of unrest and violence. They are pursuing Sujan and three other girls who were returning from the market. While Sujan manages to save the girls and help them escape, he gets stabbed to death by Kabir. Sujan's death fuels the fire in Begum's heart, and they decide to sell the final standoff. Meanwhile, after being rejected by Begum Jaan, Master manages to catch a girl (Parno Mittra) in his scheme of getting back to Begum. He joins forces with Kabir and Prafullah. Elias was dissatisfied with Kabir's ways, but accepted the events as necessary for the work. That night, Kabir and his gang set fire to a brothel. These women, trained to use Salim's rifles, put up a brave battle. Most of them die, but Salim himself dies the most terrible death. After the bloodshed, the remaining women, including Begum, enter hell at home and willingly accept their deaths in their own country, while narrating the legendary Rani Padmini of Rajputana. When dawn comes, the house and its prisoners were burned to dust. The film ends with Elias, Prafulla, The Master and lahi refugees from Debiganja and Haldibari coming together to see the remains of Begum Yaan's brothel as bharatah bahyat plays in the background.
