    2021 Book News Welcome to our 2021 Book News. As we come towards the end of a very strange year we hope that you’ve managed to get this far relatively unscathed. It’s been a very challenging time for us all and we’re just relieved that, so far, we’re mostly all in one piece. While we were closed over lockdown, Mark took on the challenge of digitalising some of Venture’s back catalogue producing over 20 downloadable books of some of our most popular titles. Thanks to the kind donations of our customers we managed to raise over £3000 for The Christie which was then matched pound for pound by a very good friend taking the total to almost £7000. There is still time to donate and download these books, just click on the downloads page on our website for the full list. We’re still operating with reduced numbers in the building at any one time. We’ve re-organised our schedules for packers and office staff to enable us to get orders out as fast as we can, but we’re also relying on carriers and suppliers. Many of the publishers whose titles we stock are small societies or one-man operations so please be aware of the longer lead times when placing orders for Christmas presents. The last posting dates for Christmas are listed on page 63 along with all the updates in light of the current Covid situation and also the impending Brexit deadline. The companies profiled are identified by PPP Canada Inc. – the federal crown cor- poration created to promote P3s across the country – as likely market participants in Canadian water and wastewater P3 projects. They offer a diverse set of capabilities; some would be part of the design and build phase of a P3, others participate in the operate and finance portion. While some of the companies are specialty water and wastewater services firms, others are P3 financiers. The common thread is their desire to participate in and benefit from water and wastewater P3 projects in Canada. Given the success of recent efforts to oppose water and wastewater P3s in communities like Abbotsford, Whistler, and Metro Vancouver, B.C., public opposition is a key con- cern for the P3 industry in Canada.1 One way of protecting publicly owned and oper- ated water and wastewater services is to educate the public about the track records of private water services companies vying for contracts to design, build, finance, operate and maintain water and wastewater infrastructure. With intimate knowledge of these companies, municipal officials, city councillors and local supporters of publicly owned and operated water and wastewater services will gain important tools to challenge P3s in their communities.

    Transdev continues its international expansion with the acquisition of Voyago, a major mobility player in Canada (Ontario) Issy-les-Moulineaux (France) / Montréal (Canada), April 11, 2019 - Transdev Canada announces the acquisition of Voyago, a mobility operator specialized in passenger transport, a family-business based in Ontario, Canada. The two partners have agreed not to disclose the amount of the transaction, which was completed on Monday, April 8, 2019. Now, with Voyago, Transdev Canada represents a combined turnover of €126 million, an increase of 54% compared to its 2018 activity, which employs 2,600 people in Canada (Quebec, Ontario) and completes some 36 million annual passenger trips. In 2018, Transdev generated revenues of €1.2 billion in North America, of which more than €1 billion was in the United States of America. This acquisition is part of Transdev group's strategy to refocus on the Business to Government (B2G) market - which already accounts for more than 89% of its €6.9 billion 2018 turnover - and the B2B market. Transdev's activities in Canada - with revenues of €82 million in 2018 - are currently mainly concentrated in Quebec, particularly in the Greater Montreal Area, and in Ontario, in the Toronto Area.
