THEME: LET US ALWAYS PLACE AND KEEP OUR FAITH IN THE SAVING POWER OF OUR LOVING GOD. God’s ability to still the waves of a storm in the first reading reassures Job of God’s awesome power. When Jesus calms the violent squall in the Gospel, His disciples can’t believe the power they just witnessed. As God admonished Job, the Lord asks them to have faith, no matter how terrible the storm. May our faith be strengthened as we listen to God’s word, so that we may constantly find assurance in the Lord. Job 38:1,811 The Lord speaks to Job out of the storm. Psalm 107 “Give thanks to the Lord; His love is everlasting.” 2 Corinthians 5:1417 Christ’s love impels us. Mark 4:3541 Jesus calms the stormy seas.
