St Hilda’s School Rowing Captains’ Welcome

As we embark on the second half of the season, we, as rowing captains, would like to formally welcome all parents, coaches, officials, and rowers to the commencement of the camps and regattas. So far this season, the quality of rowing from all year groups has far exceeded our expectations and ultimately reflects the ongoing spirit and enthusiasm that each girl delivers.

The unbelievable amount of commitment and ambition amongst the girls has formed a prosperous platform for the shed as we head into the regattas and, most importantly, the Head of the River. We are confident that the girls will do a splendid job this season and feel privileged to lead the School and watch each crew grow and achieve the best results possible.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and coaches for immersing themselves in the sport. Your dedication and support make our love of rowing a reality and is far from being unnoticed. As the shed continues to prepare and train for the upcoming regattas, we would like to wish all the girls and coaches the best of luck.

Lourdes Hill College Rowing Captains’ Welcome

On behalf of the Lourdes Hill College community, we would like to welcome everyone to the fourth BSRA regatta for the 2019 season.

There is no time like the present to grit your teeth and keep performing your best out here at Lake Wyaralong. It has been wonderful to watch the sportsmanship between all the schools over the past few weeks.

It’s great to finally be able to see all of the schoolgirls’ hard work and dedication, not to mention the blisters and freezing early mornings pay off on the racecourse. There really is no better feeling than going out and seeing every girl perform at her absolute best.

A special mention to all the Year 8s; it looks like you have enjoyed your first couple of races and are starting to realise the true grit and determination this sport requires. We would like to say a massive thank you to all the coaches, boatmen, parents, officials and organisers who have put in endless hours of support and effort throughout this racing season. We wish everyone a happy and safe racing season. Row hard girls!

Rowing Queensland have done a fabulous job of developing the facilities at Wyaralong Dam, this facility offers excellent competitor rowing conditions.

The generous spectator finish-line outlook, combined with beautiful surrounding scenery, provides an exceptional backdrop to enjoy this challenging sport.

I would like to encourage everyone to enjoy the Regatta atmosphere, and cheer the teams to victory in good sportsmanship as they approach the Spectator Headland.
