All 4 girls represented the school with pride at Manly West PS on June 20, delivering their prepared and impromptu speeches with aplomb. Instrumental Many thanks to all the parents who brought their children to school for last Thursday’s Program Instrumental Program showcase. It was wonderful to see how much all students have progressed with their musicality. Thank you to Tim Collins for organising the program, conducting and emceeing, to Kate Ney for conducting, and to Sophia Clarke for stepping in to conduct all 3 string ensembles. Many thanks also to the parents who helped supervise each of our ensembles between the library holding bay and the stage. I would like to make special mention of Taryn Fiebig [MPS parent] for taking on the role of conducting the Stradivari Strings and the Beginner Strings this term. Taryn has done a wonderful job with the ensembles, juggling an incredibly busy schedule of her own to be here for our students. A huge commendation goes to Tara and Michelle who ran the refreshment stall – superb bakers indeed! These donated morsels, along with the water & gold coin donation raised $480 for the Instrumental Program. Our next Instrumental Program Showcase will be on Thursday September 14 from 6pm. As the term draws to a close, I’d like to acknowledge the Instrumental Program Working Group [IPWG] for ensuring the program is running smoothly. The IPWG will be meeting regularly over the next 2 terms to ensure the Group’s aim of having the administration side of the program in good hands. From the commencement of 2018, an administration body will work closely with a parent representative group on the artistic pursuits of the ensembles. Should you wish to be considered to take on the administration role, please request an information package by emailing: [email protected] Submissions are due to the school email [[email protected]] by COB Monday July 17.
