Headed and organized the 1st successful NAITAS Travel and Trade Show held May 29 – 31, 2015. This event brought together various players in the travel and tourism industry such as airlines, cruise lines, hotels, tour operators, and travel agencies wherein they showcased best deals and promotions with local and international packages. This collaboration which brought together hundreds of brands, organizations and media partners boosted outbound and inbound destinations and other local allied products and services.

Member, Task Force for Drafting of the IRR for RA 9593

Actively participated in the drafting of the IRR which served as the framework to facilitate compliance to the requirements and to maximize the benefits for which the prescribing rules and regulations of Republic Act 9593 otherwise known as the Tourism Act of 2009 was designed to provide.

Capability building of NAITAS

Organized the following seminars for NAITAS members in pursuance of the concept of investing in skills for improved profitability and success. Barriers to the pursuit of upgrading of skills tend to be related to cost constraints as most travel agencies are micro enterprises, thus this initiative to bring training support services closer to the industry:

* BREQS Seminar with NSO held April 12, 2014 to familiarize agents with the automated system of requesting for PSA issued copies and certifications of civil registry documents required by their clientele.

Nora K. Terrado is the Undersecretary for the Trade and Investment Promotion Group of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). As such, she leads the promotion of the country’s domestic and international trade, industry and investments in the local and international markets. She is also a Governor in the Board of Investments (BOI), where she provides strategic direction on investment promotion and assistance.

Undersecretary Terrado — a DTI Champion for Gender and Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Ease of Doing Business — served as the Overall Chair for the APEC Women and the Economy Fora in 2015 when the Philippines hosted the APEC.
