download windows 10 update 1809 Windows 10: continue support for versions 1803 and onward. I have a question for the Windows team. I want to know if it is possible to continue support for Windows 10 version 1803 and onward? I am using 1809. I am asking is because when 1903 comes out someday, my device might not be able to work with it. I would like to use it but do not want to spend $$ buying a new device. 1809 is a good version. It seems like Microsoft will end support for different versions of Windows 10 different times. Subscribe Subscribe to RSS feed. Report abuse. All this means is that you will not receive updates for that version, it does not mean that your Windows will cease to function, it will continue working as it always has . If your device cannot take the 1903 update, then it will refuse to install, that is all that will happen, you have nothing to worry about . Power to the Developer! You don't need to buy a new computer every few years - my computer celebrated its 9th birthday on March 10. But once your copy of Windows becomes unsupported, continuing to use it becomes risky. Feature upgrades (like v.1803 and v.1809) are supported for 18 months. A device needs to have the latest updates installed to remain supported. After that, you can still use Windows, but your copy of Windows will be unsupported, including no security updates. windows update from 1809 to 1909 windows 10. i am not able to update my windows 10 version 1809 to version 1909 whenever i try to update it shows getting things ready 0% and consumes a lot of data but still no download is done its stuck on 0% please guide me through . Windows 10 was supposed to be the last version of Windows, but they've just hidden the product name as a version number rather than the headline on the box. I call BS. I remember in 1995 sitting in my parents' spare room watching the HDD on their PC spin while it did whatever the IT profession deemed it was necessary for it to be doing, rather than helping me achieve things. A quarter of a century later, I am still going to have to waste my time watching their month old machine do a massive system update rather than something useful. Is the IT industry likely to reach any degree of professionalism before I die? Report abuse. 5 people found this reply helpful. Was this reply helpful? Sorry this didn't help. Great! It appears that the install completed, but it boots up very slowly and when I sign in the desktop is not visible, only wallpaper and it never really seems to completely sign in. I am not an expert by any means and my laptop is about 8 years old. Hoping you might be up for helping me get it going. I briefly read thru this thread and it looks like doing a clean install is the way to go, but that is a bit intimidating, as i do not want to lose any data. I believe i have everythimg backed up om an external hard drive, but even so, not sure how to proceed. Any help is much appreciated, Report abuse. Was this reply helpful? Sorry this didn't help. Before moving to windows 10 I just updated my hardware. So if you are running 1809, my personal suggestion is to stay like this and do the upgrade when you will upgrade hardware too. Report abuse.
