Making appearances at local charity events, broadcasting live at events like the Human Race, and helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for people in need. His heart and voice has been one of the guiding lights in the community. It's with great honor and appreciation that Brent is now the official voice of Transcendence Theatre, another great Sonoma County tradition.

ALISHA RAMOS (Asst. Stage Manager, Assoc. Lighting Designer, Tech Assoc.) This is Alisha’s second season with Transcendence. She is happy to be returning as Associate Lighting Designer. With a B.A. in technical theatre, she enjoys working for productions all over Sonoma County. Her most recent work includes stage managing Amadeus at Cinnabar, set design for Peter & the Star Catcher at Sonoma Arts Live, and stage manager for Music Man Jr, Sleeping Beauty, and Annie at Spreckels Performing Arts Center.

ALLI DEERING (Volunteer Coordinator, Development Associate) Alli is excited and honored to spend her first summer on staff with Transcendence after being both a fan and volunteer. Alli has a degree in Women’s and Gender Studies from Sonoma State and has spent the past 14 years serving people in need in this community, including underage and adult victims of human trafficking. She enjoys the bounty that Sonoma County has to offer and is looking forward to spending the summer in our perfect park.

AMANDA M. STUART (Artistic Associate, Production Stage Manager) Amanda is proud to be returning to Sonoma for her 6th season with Transcendence! Amanda started her theatre journey as a performer, then a props master, and now an Equity Stage Manager. She has worked at the best theatres in the country, but recently planted her roots back in NY! Currently, Amanda is the Sub Stage Manager for the Off-Broadway production of Jersey Boys. Thanks to Brad, Stephan and especially Amy for ALWAYS believing in her, and allowing her to pursue all of her artistic endeavors. For my family.

AMI NASHIMOTO (Cello) Ami is happy to be returning to Transcendence for her third season with the company. As a prominent Bay Area musician, Ami is accomplished in a myriad of styles from classical, jazz, world, and of course showtunes! To add to a busy performance life, she also teaches in San Francisco and Pacifica. 14

In 2014, Amy was honored as one of the North Bay Business Journal’s “Forty Under Forty” for excellence in vision, leadership, and community outreach, and in 2015 she was voted “Person to Watch” by Broad- way World San Francisco awards. Under her guidance, Transcendence Theatre Company has won 31 Broadway World Awards including the Broadway World San Francisco Award for Theater of the Year in 2013 & 2014, and she’s profoundly inspired to continue to bring the ultimate vision of Transcendence to life. AVIONCE HOYLES (Performing Artist) Avionce Hoyles is a Rock Hill, SC native and a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy of NY. Avionce is thrilled to return to Transendence. Credits include: Memphis the Musical (national tour/TUTS), Bring It On HGS (European tour), RENT (Edge Theatre), Sister Act (Ogunquit Playhouse/Northshore Music Theatre), and Songs For A New World (TNT). BARBARA BEATIE (Dresser) Barb is a SOTA award-winning costume designer who serves on the board of ArtQuest’s SRHS Choral Boosters supporting art in our schools. She is a published poet but spends her days doing research and writing for a local law firm. BRAD SUROSKY (Co-Executive Director, COO, Performing Artist) Brad is so excited and humbled to be here in Sonoma with this incredible community. He is also so incredibly proud of all the hard work by so many people to make our seventh season a reality. Brad is a Baltimore, Maryland native and holds a B.F.A. in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He has performed Off-Broadway and at many regional theaters across the country including Century Center, Provincetown Playhouse, Wayside Theatre, Virginia Musical Theatre, Naples Dinner Theatre, Hampton Playhouse, and many more. Brad can be seen in the Film and TV world working in scenes opposite James Caan, Zach Braff, Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, and Camilla Bell. Select TV/Film credits include: COLD CASE, SCRUBS, LAS VEGAS, VERONICA MARS, WHEN A STRANGER CALLS, and numerous national commercials. Brad is incredibly fortunate to be married to Transcendence’s Artistic Director, Amy Miller. DANIEL EMERSON WEIDLEIN (Music Director) Daniel Weidlein is a music director, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. He has appeared on NBC’s The Sing Off, FOX’s Glee, CBS’s James Cordon Show, and in the Academy Award-winning film Whiplash. As a saxophonist, Daniel released his debut album of original music with his jazz quintet this June.

FORREST POWELL (Trumpet) Forrest has been a freelance Trumpet player in the Los Angeles area for the past 14 years and recently relocated back to NorCal. His work credits include over 75 musicals, dozens of big bands and orchestras in L.A. Recent work include Scorsese: American Crime Requiem, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and 42nd Street National Tours. ISAAC CARTER (Guitar) Guitarist Isaac Carter performs all over the bay area, and has toured North America and overseas. He performs a variety of styles in many settings. Isaac is an active music educator and teaches privately in Sonoma and Napa counties.

Jake, originally from Berkeley, CA, will be returning to California after a few years residing in Chicago. He recently graduated from Northwestern University, where he studied as an actor and majored in Theater and Psychology. JB DUFF (Percussion) JB Duff grew up in the hills of Glen Ellen, on Jack London’s estate. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz from Sonoma State University, where he graduated Cum Laude and with Distinction in his class. He currently performs all over the West Coast with different musical acts and theatre companies. He presently resides in Sonoma, where he also teaches private lessons for drums and piano. This is his fifth consecutive year working with Transcendence Theatre Company.

JEFFREY PORTER (Production Manager, Technical Director, Lighting Designer) In his 7th season with Transcen- dence, Jeffrey is a technical director and lighting and sound designer based in Los Angeles. He has designed on Theatre Row in Los Ange- les and industrials such as NAMM and the LA Auto Show. He has received an NAACP LA Theatre Award nomination for lighting, an Ovation nomination for sound design and a BroadwayWorld San Francisco award for lighting design. She recently published her first compilation of poetry entitled “In Pursuit of Peacocks,” which has over 100 original poems. JESSICA JOHNSON (Associate Sound Technician) Jess has been an audio engineer and designer in Sonoma County for the past six years. After graduating from UCD, she worked at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts before returning to Santa Rosa. Joining Spreckels Performing Arts Center’s technical staff in 2011, she became Head of Audio in 2015 and has mixed and designed every show since. STEPHAN STUBBINS (Co-Executive Director, CMO, Performing Artist) After starting in Sonoma with a shoe-string marketing budget and no contacts in 2011, under Stephan’s marketing leadership Transcendence has inspired over 127k patrons and grown from a $40K company to a $3.5M company in its first six years. Stephan’s performing career has been highlighted by his time on Broadway in MARY POPPINS, in the pre-Broadway premiere of MEMPHIS, singing an opening act solo for Frank Sinatra, headlining an opening act for Rita Moreno, and working with artist legends on and off stage including Dick Van Dyke, Barry Manilow, Martin Short, Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Alexander, Ben Vereen, Megan Hilty, Conan O’Brien, and more. Stephan has been recently named the Super-Ambassador for the Arts for the Sonoma County Tourism CTA program, and is a Charter Board Member of the new Sonoma Sunrise Rotary Club. STEVEN CUTTS (Performing Artist) Steven is thrilled to make his Transcendence debut! He’s a writer/performer best known for the role of Shaun in the cult classic movie musical, Camp. He appeared in the U.S. Touring, Canadian, and Broadway productions of Hairspray. Lately, he’s devoted his efforts to his own stage+film projects currently in various stages of production. TONY GONZALEZ (Creative Director, Director, Performing Artist) Transcendence Theatre Company has offered Tony one of the most creatively challenging and artistically gratifying career experiences to date. Prior to working with TTC, Tony has a longstanding and incredibly rewarding relationship with the musical “Mamma Mia!”. He performed in the show for nine years in the Broadway, National Tour, and Las Vegas productions, served as Assistant Choreographer for the original Royal Caribbean production, Associate Choreographer with Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera production, and will be the Choreographer for an upcoming production at Stages St Louis. He is also set to be the Associate Choreographer for the brand new, 10th Anniversary “Rock Of Ages” Tour this coming Fall. Other favorite performance credits include WE WILL ROCK YOU (Las Vegas), DISNEY ON CLASSIC (Japan), and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (Las Vegas, National Tour). WES SHIPPEE (Associate Sound Technician) Wes Shippee is an NYU graduate and Drama Desk-nominated sound designer, audio engineer, and musician. Notable projects include the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, eight years with Tony Award-winning Infinity Theatre Company, and twelve years with RadioTheatre NYC, garnering multiple New York Innovative Theatre awards. Jack London was, no doubt, a trailblazer. In addition to his literary masterpieces, he was a pioneer in sustainable farming and animal husbandry, a supporter of the Little Theatre Movement, and was a critical personality within the Carmel arts community. He also brought countless guests of all sorts to these very ruins to discuss life and art, and commune over the human experience.
