2020 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

MARYLAND ACADEMY OF SCIENCES SOLSTICE 2020 at the Science Center | Saturday, June 20, 2020

Maryland Science Center 601 Light Street, , MD 21230 43RD ANNUAL SOLSTICE 2020 at the Maryland Science Center | Saturday, June 20, 2020

What is Solstice? Solstice is the Maryland Science Center’s premier fundraising event that takes place on the Saturday closest to the Summer Solstice—the first day of summer. It is held at the Science Center’s location where the views can’t be beat. Guests ages 21 and over enjoy a night to remember with delicious foods and tasty libations, all while listening to the beats of a live band. The night also features a silent auction, with over 40 items to bid on, as well as a “wine pull,” where guests have the chance to “pull” their favorite wine! All of the proceeds from Solstice support the Science Center’s outreach programs and free admission program for Maryland school children.

Why we need your support The Maryland Science Center is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Reaching over 400,000 people annually through a combination of on-site visits and outreach programs, the Science Center’s unique brand of hands-on experiential learning can only thrive with sufficient resources. Hundreds of thousands of people across the region have been touched by the work at the Maryland Science Center and our mission has been strengthened by our partners. Your company’s support, through a Solstice sponsorship, ensures that the Maryland Science Center remains at the forefront of informal science education. Help us continue to thrive!

How your support helps Students and families have a remarkable resource in the Maryland Science Center- a place where exploring the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) happens with an emphasis on learning by doing. Taking children beyond the classroom and immersing them in a hands-on environment that applauds experimenting, wondering and working together gives them a unique perspective on the importance of science in our everyday lives. Funds raised from Solstice support the Science Center’s programs and outreach efforts, as well as help underwrite free admission for all Maryland schoolchildren and teachers throughout the academic year when visiting on field trips. Mission Statement We are the Maryland Science Center. We inspire. We empower. We engage. Let’s science!
