Up to John Finnemore's usual standard. The Souvenir Program radio show consists of short skits, and this one includes a Christmas special. It played on BBC 4 radio at the end of last year (2016) into early this year. I admit that I wasn't patient enough to wait for it to come out on CD, so listened to the radio show online through the BBC website. The only downside is that this is on CD, whereas most of the audio materials I am listening to these days (aside from radio shows on the BBC website) are on Audible (so that I can listen to it via my phone rather than having to wait until I am driving since my car is the only CD player I still have). Whether flying a cat to Abu Dhabi, dealing with a nervous bassoonist, hunting for a cleverly-hidden Cabin Pressure: A- Z: The BBC Radio 4 Airline Sitcom, or attempting to celebrate Christmas in seven minutes, no job is too small, but many, many jobs are too difficult. Carolyn Knapp-Shappey, MJN Air's formidable boss, has employed two of the very cheapest pilots money can buy: Captain Martin Crieff, who's always wanted to fly and won't let a little thing like lack of ability stop him, and First Officer Douglas Richardson, smooth-voiced old sky-god and eternal schemer. Passenger service is provided by the relentlessly cheery Arthur. Review " Cabin Pressure is one of the best written, cast, acted and directed comedies on anywhere. The Lyric pantomime began its life in 2009 with Jack and the Beanstalk as part of Sean’s first season as Artistic Director. With its very first panto, written by Richard Bean, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, Joel Horwood, Ché Walker and directed by Steve Marmion, with Stephen Fry as the voice of the giant - the Lyric firmly put Hammersmith on the London panto map with flying carpets, singing cows and dancing rats. Mel Giedroyc, Vikki Stone and Stevie Webb have all joined the Lyric’s pantomime over the years to sing ‘Glory Glory Hammersmith’. The pantomime has launched many new careers through the Panto Ensemble, a group of young performers given training and the experience of taking to the stage to perform, many in their first paid professional roles.
