She is none other than my respected and adorable mother, Smt. Jeewan Lata. So much can be said about her contribution to my life and her support in making me what I am today, that a whole book can be written about it! But, I will consider her like Lord Shiva and hence move onto the next person, after bowing to her, as even an ocean of words can't describe her real contribution in my life and for this book. Second on the list of acknowledgments is my dear and respected father Lt. Sh. Bodh Raj Shangari. Though he left us when I was nine only, the mere fact that he along with my mother brought me to this world, makes me indebted to him for this life as well as for many lives to come. God Bless your soul father, wherever you are! Even though you are physically not with me anymore, you have always been present in my mind, through all the sweet memories of my childhood, and you will always be. Retrograde Planets edic astrology is an ocean of interesting as well as Vmysterious concepts and the concept of some planets among navagraha going retrograde is one of them. Retrograde generally means moving backward or going back in time and accordingly it is assumed that when a planet goes retrograde for certain period of time, instead of continuing with its forward motion, it starts moving backward. For example, all planets among navagraha except Rahu and Ketu move in forward direction which means they move from Aries to Pisces and then they repeat this cycle again and again, where the completion of this one cycle may be different for different planets. The fastest moving planet among navagraha, Moon may complete its cycle from Aries to Pisces in less than 30 days whereas the slowest to move among navagraha, Saturn may take about 30 years to complete one cycle from Aries to Pisces. When a planet goes retrograde, instead of moving from Aries to Pisces, it starts moving from Pisces to Aries, in the opposite direction. For instance, if Saturn is transiting through Scorpio at this time, generally it will move from Scorpio to the next sign Sagittarius which means it will move from eighth sign to the ninth sign. However when it goes retrograde for a period of some months, during those months it will start moving backward from Scorpio towards the previous sign Libra, through which it has already passed Retrograde Saturn - Part I recently. Hence a retrograde planet starts moving backward for a certain period of time and then it starts moving forward again which means that after moving in backward direction for some months, Saturn in this example will start moving from Scorpio to Sagittarius, which is the forward movement of this planet. Now that we know what a forward moving planet is and what is a backward moving planet, it is the time to know how the planets among navagraha behave when it comes to their forward as well as backward movements through various signs. Among navagraha, Sun and Moon always move in forward direction and they never go retrograde, which means that they always move from Aries to Pisces and they never move back towards the sign through which they have recently passed. On the other hand, Rahu and Ketu always move backward or so to say, they are always retrograde and they always move from Pisces to Aries. However one thing is common among these two sets of planets where the first set is that of Sun and Moon whereas the second set is that of Rahu and Ketu, and that is the fact that they never move back towards the sign they have recently passed through. Considering an example, if Sun is transiting through Scorpio towards Sagittarius in its forward motion, it means that Sun has recently passed through the previous sign Libra and it is now passing through Scorpio. As the Sun always moves in forward direction, it will only move from Scorpio to Sagittarius and it will never move back towards Libra. Similarly if Rahu is transiting through the sign of Scorpio, it means that Rahu has recently passed through Sagittarius and now it is moving from Scorpio to Libra since it moves backward from Pisces to Aries.

  • Narcissism, Self-Effacement and Rahu and Ketu a Key to Understanding People by Hank Friedman
Narcissism, Self-Effacement and Rahu and Ketu a key to understanding people by Hank Friedman [Note: For those unfamiliar with Vedic terms, Rahu is the Moon's North Node, and Ketu is the Moon's South Node. Thanks to AstroDatabank for the birth data for the charts in this article.] Ascertaining the positions of the Moon's nodes, Rahu and Ketu, arose from the need to predict eclipses. During a New Moon or Full Moon, if either of the nodes is near the Sun and the Moon, an eclipse occurs. Therefore, the central theme of both nodes is the principle of eclipsing. An eclipse is a momentous event, a major omen, respected from the earliest times as representing a change in the wind, a time of great transition. In the context of Vedic astrology, eclipsing carries the meanings of obscuring, negating, diminishing, paralyzing, and blinding, as well as emphasizing, distorting, amplifying, and exaggerating. Many classical Vedic astrology texts show the meaning of the nodes when in specific houses, e.g. Jataka Parijata (Chapter 8, Shloka 60) states: "When Rahu occupies the Ascendant, the person born will be cruel, without compassion or moral virtue in his nature and suffering from ailments. When Ketu occupies the Ascendant, the person born will be sickly and very avaricious. If the Rahu or Ketu in the Ascendant be aspected by a benefic planet, the person concerned will have princely enjoyments." As the final shloka indicates, the nodes are incredibly mutable chameleons who take on the nature of planets with and aspecting them, as well as the nature of their dispositors (planets that rule the signs that they are in).

  • Late Marriage Marriage Is a Major Landmark in Life and Vedic Astrology Deals with All Aspects of Marriage in Depth
Astrological combinations for Late Marriage Marriage is a major landmark in life and Vedic Astrology deals with all aspects of marriage in depth. The most important planet for marriage in case of females is Jupiter and in case of males is Venus. Saturn has a major role in the delay of marriage. In this webcast, we will analyze the astrological combinations for a delayed marriage. Planets in the 7th House The placement of Sun in the 7th house indicates delay in marriage and a troubled marriage. The native may not be firm on his principles. In some cases the wife may not have loyalty towards the husband. Placement of Saturn in the 7th house indicates late marriage or more than one marriage. In this case, a person may get married to a widow, divorcee or someone elder in age. Mars in the 7th house is also not a healthy sign for a timely marriage because it indicates strong Manglik effect. Such people should marry after 28 years of age. Saturn and Late Marriage Saturn in conjunction with Moon and the Sun or in aspect indicates a delay in marriage. A delay in marriage also occurs when Saturn is placed in the 7th house or in the ascendant. If Saturn is placed in the 7th house being the lord of 7th house and forms a samsaptak yoga with Sun, it indicates a late marriage. Let us now talk about the position of Saturn in a Navamansh Kundali. If Saturn and Moon are placed together in the 7th house in a Navamsha Kundali, it indicates a late marriage.

  • Significattors and Promittors: How to Delineate Them?
Significattors and Promittors: How to delineate them? Clelia Romano, DMA Copyright 2008-2010 How to delineate a certain matter or accident of the native´s life when a planet, ruler of a particular house / sign, is applying to another one that is the ruler of another house / sign in the radical chart? Modern astrologers would answer the question above usually considering the result as a mixture of both energies. As an illustration I´ll present the following chart: nd Here we see that Jupiter is at 14º of Aries, in the 2 sign of the 10th house which cusp is in th Pisces. By "whole signs" Jupiter is in the 11 sign. We can say that Jupiter is configured to career and reputation´s issues, but also to matters of friends and hopes. The transit of Jupiter to the Sun in the present chart occurred during the year of 2007. What was supposed to happen? Jupiter is a benefic planet, and in the present chart it is th th in a good place, (10 /11 ) and in Aries he has dignity as ruler of the fire triplicity. The transit of Jupiter to the Sun at 22º02' of Sagittarius, happened in that year. The Sun is in the 6th house, related to services and sickness. Can we expect a mix of the energy of both planets and places? Can we expect good things to happen, mixing energies of the 10th, the 11th and of the 6th? We can ask another question: has the transit of Jupiter to the Sun, as I described above, the same effect of the transit of the Sun applying to Jupiter? Many astrologers will answer in a positive way, taking into account that the transit of the Sun in much faster than the one of Jupiter, so the consequence of the last one would be less visible.
