2016 In Review ABOUT NLGJA NLGJA – The Association of LGBTQ Journalists is the premier network of LGBTQ media professionals and those who support the highest journalistic standards in the coverage of LGBTQ issues. NLGJA provides its members with skill-building, educational programming and professional development opportunities. As the association of LGBTQ media professionals, we offer members the space to engage with other professionals for both career advancement and the chance to expand their personal networks. Through our commitment to fair and accurate LGBTQ coverage, NLGJA creates tools for journalists by journalists on how to cover the community and issues. January 1 In the morning, the President traveled to the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, FL. In the afternoon, the President returned to his private residence at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, FL, where he remained overnight. The President announced the designation of the following individuals as members of a Presidential delegation to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from January 20 through January: Steven T. Mnuchin (head of delegation); Wilbur L. Ross, Jr.; Eugene Scalia; Elaine L. Chao; Robert E. Lighthizer; Keith J. Krach; Ivanka M. Trump; Jared C. Kushner; and Christopher P. Liddell. January 2 In the morning, the President traveled to the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, FL. In the afternoon, the President returned to his private residence at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, FL, where he remained overnight. During the day, President had a telephone conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey to discuss bilateral and regional issues, including the situation in Libya and the need for deescalation of the conflict in Idlib, Syria, in order to protect civilians. January 3 In the morning, the President was notified of the successful U.S. strike in Baghdad, Iraq, that killed Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, commander of the Quds Force. -

Before the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Washington, D.C. 20554 In the Matter of ) Video Description: Implementation of the ) MB Docket No. 11-43 Twenty-First Century Communications and ) Video Accessibility Act of 2010 ) REPLY COMMENTS OF NEWS CORPORATION AND FOX NEWS NETWORK, LLC News Corporation (“News Corp.”) and Fox News Network, LLC (“Fox News”) respectfully submit these reply comments in response to the Commission’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning new video description rules.1 As News Corp. and Fox News explained to the Commission via a letter submitted as part of the opening round of comments in this proceeding, Fox News qualifies for exclusion from the rules because it does not provide at least 50 hours per quarter of non-exempt (i.e., non-live or non-near live) prime-time programming (as those terms have been defined in the Notice).2 Given that ESPN, Inc. also filed comments notifying the Commission of an exclusion, which could result in Fox News otherwise being deemed to be subject to the new rules, News Corp. and Fox News hereby provide the Commission with the additional information sought in the Notice with respect to entities that believe they should be excluded from the “top five” national non-broadcast networks. In the Notice, the Commission observed that it is statutorily directed to impose video description obligations on multichannel video programming distributors. He is the director of the NYPD Executive Masters Leadership Program. He also serves on the faculty of the City University of New York’s Doctoral Program in Sociology, and the Department of Social Science at LaGuardia Community College. Moskos is a Senior Fellow of the Yale Urban Ethnography Project. Moskos is a Harvard and Princeton trained sociologist and former Baltimore City police officer. He focuses on police culture, crime prevention, qualitative methods, and ending the war on drugs. His first book, Cop in the Hood, won the 2008 American Publishers Award for Professional and Scholarly Excellence, Best Book in Sociology. His second book, In Defense of Flogging, was listed as a “Favorite Book of the Year” by Mother Jones and earned Moskos recognition as one of Atlantic Magazine’s “Brave Thinkers of 2011.” Moskos’s third book Greek Americans: Struggle and Success (2013), examines the history, culture, and status of Greek immigrants and their descendants in American. His fourth book, “On the Job,” to be published by the University of California Press, will examine the crime drop and the future of policing, based on interviews with police officers. -
