Join the future! 2nd ITTF World Hopes Week & Challenge Official Training Camp and Tournament 11-17 June, ,

Official Official Program Sponsor Table Partner Dear friends and supporters of the ITTF Hopes Program It is with tremendous pride and large dose of anticipation that I, on behalf of the ITTF Development and Education departments colleagues and staff, bids welcome to young hopes talents from all over the globe to visit Sweden and the city of Falkenberg for the second edition of the ITTF Hopes Week and Challenge. During the week 11-17 June, we will together walk in the footsteps of a number great Swedish players calling Falkenberg their Table Tennis home and practice place. As long as I can remember, this city - tucked away on the beautiful west coast of Sweden - has been all about the sport of Table Tennis and its well being. Let us during our stay cherish the great spirit and listen to the advice of champions like , Bo Persson, Ulf Carlsson, and Peter Karlsson – just to mention a few. The ITTF Hopes Programme is the newest project offered by the strong and always evolving ITTF Development sector. We are talking talent ID at an early age, in combi- nation with a strong push for young and upcoming coaches to get involved, to learn and to start thinking professional career and development of young talents. Our new working model also involves national associations planting seeds of motivation for the benefit of Table Tennis by setting up a national phase of qualification prior to entering athletes to the Hopes Week. Allow me to thank close to seventy countries covering all the six continents, for taking interest in the Hopes Programme. We are on the way towards a bright future – no doubt about that. The Hopes Week is all about CHALLENGE, unlimited FUN and EDUCATION. We want to teach EXCELLENCE by offering quality training and competitive opportunities. We want to promote UNIVERSALITY for the better good of our sport and we wish to CELEBRATE young talents, their coaches for spending long hours in the practice hall working on the secrets of our game. Finally – from the bottom of my heart - I thank the Falkenbergs Table Tennis Club and the Swedish Table Tennis association for their graceful hosting of the event. I salute STIGA – our new Table supplier and partner for the 2012 event as well as BUTTERFLY for powering the ITTF Hopes Program to new heights. To all athletes, coaches, officials, parents and ITTF staff, down to the simplest of sup- porter, I say: Welcome to a week of FUN, CHALLENGE and EDUCATION – may you all be rewarded! The ITTF Hopes Week – Where The Future is Now!

Mikael Andersson, ITTF Executive Director Education and Training Welcome to Falkenberg and Sweden! It is a great pleasure to invite the future hopes of table tennis to Falkenberg, Sweden. To have young and promising athletes from all over the world in Falkenberg gives me great joy. I hope that you will have a great week, will improve your table tennis skills and meet new friends and above all learn more about each other and from each other and other cultures.

Walter Rönmark President Swedish Table Tennis Association Welcome to Falkenberg! We are pleased to invite you to the ITTF World Hopes Week and Falkenberg Hot Spot Training Center. In Falkenberg we have a long tradition of top class Table Tennis. Many strong players, both top Swedes and foreign players have successfully swung their rackets for Falkenbergs BTK. World champion Stellan Bengtsson, and Bo Persson dominated the seventies and brought fame not only to the club, but also to the city making it a Swedish hotbed for the sport of table tennis. In the footprints of Stellan Bengtsson followed other greats like Erik Lindh, Ulf Carlsson and Peter Karlsson. We are proud of our past, but also interested in the future. In 2011 we applied and received approval from ITTF and the Swedish Association to join the ITTF Hot Spot Training Center network. Following the guidelines for the network we are now offering several longer training camps each year targeting players interested in raising their level of play. We promise to do everything we can to make this a memorable week and are looking forward to see you in Falkenberg.
