* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Burke County in western North Carolina... Southeastern McDowell County in western North Carolina... North Central Rutherford County in western North Carolina...
* Until 1215 PM EDT.
* At 911 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly and localized storm total rainfall could be around 3 inches this morning.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Doppler radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Morganton, Salem, Drexel, Glen Alpine, Lake James State Park, Lake James, Table Rock, South Mountains State Park, Lake Rhodhiss, Oak Hill, Dysartsville, Nebo, Glenwood, Fero and Thermal City.
Locales from around greater Morganton to Nebo and Dysartsville are under the greatest threat of developing high water conditions this morning.
