Recent data placed Kaua`i High at 16 th out of 55 DOE public High Schools according to Honolulu Magazine multi-criteria ranking based upon publicly available data. In addition we would like to highlight recent accomplishments outside of the traditional classroom data realm. Please thank the teachers who encourage students to compete outside of the traditional school atmosphere; all part of a well-rounded High School experience which Engages and Empowers all to be successful. As we enter 4 th quarter and head to the summer. Please encourage your student to read, that is one area that students must practice outside of school. During our weekly homeroom time we are encouraging students to read a book of choice or a book we have supplied. However more “outside of school” reading time is needed and as school/ parent/guardian “team” that is our message. We will be offering Summer Credit Recovery. This (CR) will happen from June 13- July 13 in two sessions both morning and afternoon. Credit Recovery is also available every day after school for two hours for FREE!!! Encourage your student to start now; it’s tough and time consuming and summer CR costs $100! Grade 9 orientation will take place on August 7th. We are inviting parents of our new 9 th graders (class of 2021) to come to orientation with their 9 th grader, something new in SY 17-18. All other students will return Tuesday, August 8th for their first day. The DOE implemented, a new food service lunch account tracking system. The entire state is having some implementation speed bumps. Questions; contact Laci Uyesono at the office. Again if you need anything please let us know.
