The Neighbourhood Plan gives protection to various Local Green Spaces across the two parish council areas and, in particular, it provides for a western buffer zone between development on Abingdon Airfield and the village of Shippon. The Neighbourhood Plan now belongs to both parish councils and their duty is to implement not only the planning policies but also to action the various potential community projects that came out of the extensive consultation with the community. This will be a major task and of course will depend on the continuing support of residents and seeking funding from various organisations. In addition, the Plan will be under constant review by the parish councils to monitor if any of the policies need updating in a future Plan. The parish councils recognise that a number of residents did not support the current Neighbourhood Plan at the Referendum. They are keen to hear from anyone who did not support the Plan to see if there are any issues which could be addressed now or in a future Plan: Please contact the Wootton Parish Clerk at [email protected].
