This includes a 7- storey base building with a height of 36 metres that rises to 8 storeys or 48.5 metres at the north end of the site. The proposed base building contains approximately 15,050 square metres of academic, administration and retail space. The tower includes 100 student residence units with 332 beds in total. The proposal also includes 4 levels of underground parking containing 155 parking spaces for university and public use. The proposed building would share the loading facilities at 101-105 Bond Street and includes the creation of a publicly accessible mid- block pedestrian connection through 111 Bond Street. This proposal is consistent with the policies of the Official Plan, expands the city's post secondary education infrastructure, meets the intent of the Tall Building Design Guidelines and offers public realm improvements including a widening of the sidewalk zone along Church Street, a mid block pedestrian connection from Church Street to Bond Street, and an improved public realm in the adjacent north-south laneway.     STAFF REPORT ACTION REQUIRED Supplementary Report – 57 Bond Street Date: February 6, 2012 To: Toronto and East York Community Council From: Acting Director, Policy & Research, City Planning Division Wards: Toronto Centre-Rosedale – Ward 27 Reference P:\2012\Cluster B\PLN\HPS\TEYCC\February 14 2012\teHPS16 Number: SUMMARY At its meeting of January 16, 2012, the Toronto Preservation Board adopted PB9.2 and recommended to the Toronto and East York Community Council that City Council state its intention to designate the property at 57 Bond Street (St. Michael's Cathedral) under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act. The applicant deputed at the Toronto Preservation Board meeting and indicated that representatives of the Archdiocese of Toronto wished to consult with heritage staff on the contents of the Reasons for Designation. Staff have met with representatives of the Archdiocese of Toronto and have revised the Reasons for Designation to clarify that the fixed items that are also considered liturgical objects are excluded from the heritage attributes identified on the interior of St. Michael's Cathedral. It is understood that the chattels or moveable objects that are considered liturgical objects by the Archdiocese are not eligible for designation and are not identified in the Reasons for Designation. RECOMMENDATIONS The City Planning Division recommends that: 1. That the original Reasons for Designation (Attachment No. 1) in the staff report dated December 20, 2011 be replaced with the Revised Reasons for Designation (Attachment No. 2) dated February 6, 2012. The entrance wing (east) of the E-wing of St. Michael's Hospital is included in the Reasons for Designation. The property at 30 Bond Street, specifically the E-wing dating to 1937, was listed on the City of Toronto Inventory of Heritage Properties in January 1985. St. Michael's Hospital has submitted a development application to alter the hospital campus, including the infill of the landscaped courtyards along Bond Street flanking the E-wing. RECOMMENDATIONS The City Planning Division recommends that 1. City Council state its intention to designate the property at 30 Bond Street (E- wing, St. Michael's Hospital) under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act. 2.     REPORT FOR ACTION Amendment of Designating By-law – 115 Bond Street Date: November 24, 2016 To: Toronto Preservation Board Toronto and East York Community Council From: Chief Planner and Executive Director Wards: Ward 27 - Toronto Centre Rosedale SUMMARY This report recommends that City Council amend City of Toronto By-law No. 637-76 designating the property at 115 Bond Street under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act to revise the Reasons for Designation in accordance with the 2005 changes to the Ontario Heritage Act. The property contains the Saint George's Greek Orthodox Church originally known as the Holy Blossom Synagogue (1895-97) a two-and-half storey place of worship that has been an important landmark in the neighbourhood for 120 years. RECOMMENDATIONS The Chief Planner and Executive Director recommends that: 1. City Council state its intention to amend City of Toronto By-law No. 637-76 to revise the Reasons for Designation in accordance with the Statement of Significance: 115 Bond Street attached as Attachment No. 4 to the report (November 24, 2016) from the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning Division to explain the cultural heritage value or interest of the property and describe its heritage attributes. 2. If there are no objections to the proposed amendment in accordance with the Ontario Heritage Act, City Council authorize the City Solicitor to introduce the necessary bill in Council amending designating By-law No. 637-76.
