Waylan suffers from hallucinatory encounters with Reeve, his missing brother. Reeve often blames Waylan for his disappearance and implied death. Waylan also worries that Sam, his live-in girlfriend, will leave him before he can resolve his own increasingly erratic behavior. Largely, Lightning Flowers is preoccupied with the consequences of nostalgic thinking. Among others, the novel grapples with the following questions: What defines contemporary notions of “brotherhood”? To what extent does one’s survival necessitate self-delusion? THE PAUL MCCARTNEY ENCYCLOPEDIA Tadpoles A single by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, produced by Paul and issued in Britain on Friday 1 August 1969 on Liberty LBS 83257, with 'I'm The Urban Spaceman' on the flip. Take It Away (promotional film) The filming of the promotional video for 'Take It Away' took place at EMI's Elstree Studios in Boreham Wood and was directed by John MacKenzie. Six hundred members of the Wings Fun Club were invited along as a live audience to the filming, which took place on Wednesday 23 June 1982. The band comprised Paul on bass, Eric Stewart on lead, George Martin on electric piano, Ringo and Steve Gadd on drums, Linda on tambourine and the horn section from the Q Tips. In between the various takes of 'Take It Away' Paul and his band played several numbers to entertain the audience, including 'Lucille', 'Bo Diddley', 'Peggy Sue', 'Send Me Some Lovin", 'Twenty Flight Rock', 'Cut Across Shorty', 'Reeling And Rocking', 'Searching' and 'Hallelujah I Love Her So'. The promotional film made its debut on Top Of The Pops on Thursday 15 July 1982. Take It Away (single) A single by Paul which was issued in Britain on Parlophone 6056 on Monday 21 June 1982 where it reached No. 14 in the charts and in America on Columbia 18-02018 on Saturday 3 July 1982 where it reached No. 10 in the charts. 'I'll Give You A Ring' was on the flip.

In addition to poetry, he wrote short stories and scripts for film and radio, which he often performed himself. His public readings, particularly in America, won him great acclaim; his sonorous voice with a subtle Welsh lilt became almost as famous as his works. His best-known works include the "play for voices" Under Milk Wood and the celebrated villanelle for his dying father, "Do not go gentle into that good night". Appreciative critics have also noted the craftsmanship and compression of poems such as "In my Craft or Sullen Art", and the rhapsodic lyricism in "And death shall have no dominion" and "Fern Hill". <b>Early Life</b> Dylan Thomas was born in the Uplands area of Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, on 27 October 1914 just a few months after the Thomas family had bought the house. Uplands was, and still is, one of the more affluent areas of the city. His father, David John ('DJ') Thomas (1876–1952), had attained a first-class honours degree in English at University College, Aberystwyth, and was dissatisfied with his position at the local grammar school as an English master who taught English literature. His mother, Florence Hannah Thomas (née Williams) (1882–1958), was a seamstress born in Swansea. Nancy, Thomas's sister, (Nancy Marles 1906–1953) was nine years older than he. Their father brought up both children to speak only English, even though he and his wife were both bilingual in English and Welsh.

Unbelievable piece of Paul McCartney & Wings history with this set of 4 x single sided EMI Studios acetate LP recordings of the One Hand Clapping sessions. The tracks contained on each record are: 'From Reel A': One Hand Clapping, Jet, Soiley, Little Woman Love/'C. Moo' and Let Me Roll It, 'From Reel B': Junior's Farm, Hi-Hi-Hi, Go Now, Maybe I'm Amazed and Bluebird, 'From Reel C': Blue Moon Of Kentucky, My Love, Nineteen Eighty Five, Live And Let Die and Band On The Run and 'Untitled': Junior's Farm, Jet and Soiley (sic. Soily). Record '1' is in VG condition with some surface/storage marks though no heavier scratches, handwritten timing of 21'00 and 'Reel A Wings'. Record '2' is in glossy VG+ condition with some light hairline marks, nothing heavier. Handwritten timing of 21'04 and 'Reel B Wings'. Record '3' is in similar VG+ condition - again nice and glossy with a few light hairline marks. Handwritten timing of 22'14 and 'Reel C Wings'. Record '4' is in similar VG+ condition with a few light hairline marks, nothing ever heavier in nature. No timing indicated but handwritten 'Juniors Farm, Just, Soily, Wings'. A series of EPs were planned to be released in conjunction with the film (directed by Dave Lichfield) with the aim of capturing the band playing live in informal recording sessions.
