ELECTIONS OF OFFICERS AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2015/2016 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE BRITISH GROUP INTER‐PARLIAMENTARY UNION WEDNESDAY 13 JANUARY 2016, IPU ROOM

Dear Member,

I am pleased to advise you that The Rt Hon David Cameron MP has agreed to be President of the Group for the period 2015/2016.

Under the terms of Rule 8 (1), (2) and (3) the following have agreed to be Vice‐Presidents for the coming year:

Rt Hon Jeremy Corbyn MP, Rt Hon Phillip Hammond MP, Rt Hon Justine Greening MP, Diane Abbott MP, Rt Hon the Baroness Boothroyd PC OM, Rt Hon the Baroness Hayman, Rt Hon Margaret Beckett MP, Rt Hon the Lord Carrington KG GCMG CH MC DL, Rt Hon the Lord Hurd of Westwell CH CBE, Rt Hon the Lord Owen CH, Rt Hon the Lord Hague of Richmond PC FRSL, Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP and Ivan Lewis MP.

The Rt Hon John Bercow MP, Speaker of the House of Commons and The Rt Hon Baroness D’Souza CMG, the Lord Speaker will continue in their roles as Honorary Presidents of the Group.

Under the terms of Rule 9 (2) and (3), the Executive Committee shall consist of 5 elected officers and 21 members and shall reflect the numerical strength of the parties in the House of Commons.

In accordance with Rule 10 (5), the nominations received by the Secretariat are listed overleaf for your information and the election outcome will be confirmed at the AGM on 2 December. In addition, I can confirm that no Rule changes under Rule 18 are proposed this year and no items of other business were received by the Secretariat under Rule 15 (4).
