MINNESOTA WILD ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF HOCKEY IS FOR EVERYONE AWARENESS NIGHT ON MARCH 3

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Wild today announced details of Hockey Is For Everyone Awareness Night on Tuesday, March 3, when it hosts the Nashville Predators at 7 p.m. at on FOX Sports North PLUS and KFAN 100.3 FM.

The Wild will dedicate several elements of its game to Hockey Is For Everyone™ and various organizations dedicated to diversity and inclusion:  Landon Uthke, a 12-year-old amputee from Albert Lea with a Wild-branded prosthetic leg, will be the Flag Bearer.  from the will make the “Let’s Play Hockey!” announcement on behalf of the team and the You Can Play Project.  Laura Janzig de la Luz and her daughters, Eliza and Adelyn will take part in the This Is Our Ice tradition on behalf of Minnesota Hockey.  Minnesota Special Hockey will take the ice during first intermission.  The Wild will air an exclusive video featuring Sawyer and Simon Seidl during the second intermission.  Proceeds from the “Split the Pot Raffle” will benefit the Special Olympics Minnesota.

The following groups will have information tables: Section 104 – Blind Hockey and Minnesota Warriors Hockey Section 113 - Minnesota Whitecaps Section 118 - Minnesota Sled Hockey and Minnesota Special Hockey Section 121 - Herb Brooks Foundation Rink Rats Section 210 - Special Olympics Minnesota Section 211 - DinoMights Section 213 - Hendrickson Foundation

Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to pledge their support to promoting and creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all who cherish this great game by signing a “Hockey Is For Everyone” banner located at the Minnesota Whitecaps concourse table at Section 113. Following Tuesday’s game, the banner will be displayed at TRIA Rink. Hockey Is For Everyone and You Can Play placards will be available at concourse tables throughout the arena. Fans are encouraged to take a placard and display them during the game. Hockey Is For Everyone merchandise will be available for purchase at the Hockey Lodge.

The Minnesota Wild and the Minnesota Wild Foundation continue to support numerous programs and initiatives that help provide as many people as possible the opportunity to play hockey in a positive and inclusive environment. Some of the programs and initiatives the organization supports include: DinoMights, Hendrickson Foundation, Herb Brooks Foundation, Minnesota Wild Blind Hockey, Minnesota Sled Hockey Association, Minnesota Special Hockey, Minnesota Warriors Program, Minnesota Whitecaps, National Women’s Hockey League, United Heroes League and You Can Play Project.
