MUSTANG RULES

1. 9 players in the field. Outfielders must be in the grass at the start of each play.

2. Each team shall bat entire lineup.

3. A player arriving late will go to the bottom of your lineup.

4. Each player must play 2 defensive .

5. If a player leaves the game due to illness, injury, or school event, he will not be called .

6. A team must have at least 8 players to start the game.

7. A team may use up to 3 eight year old players to avoid forfeit, but these players must play in

the and bat last.

8. Home team gets the cage 1 hour before game time.

9. Visiting team gets the ½ hour before game time.

10. Home team keeps scorebook and . Any disputes as to must be

presented to the league Director within 1 hour of the conclusion of the game. If no dispute

is presented, the pitch count shall be final.

11. Visiting team keeps the scoreboard.

12. A game consists of 6 innings or 1 ½ hours of playing time before school is out or 1 ¾ hours of

playing time when school is out for the summer or Saturday games.

13. 5 runs per , excluding the last inning. The last inning will be called when 19 minutes or

fewer remains. Last inning will be unlimited runs.

14. No new inning will start with 4 minutes showing on the scoreboard.

15. In the case of inclement weather, a game will be ruled complete after 4 completed innings

or 3 ½ innings if the home team is winning. We will allow time for one weather delay, if

weather continues the game will be rescheduled.

16. A runner may steal after the ball crosses the plate. 17. No lead offs.

18. Runners must return to the base he last occupied when the has control of the ball on

the pitcher’s mound.

19. Runner may only steal home on a pass ball or wild throw back to the pitcher.

23. A runner must when, in umpire’s judgement, there is a play at home plate or base. No

player initiated collisions at home, if the runner initiates a collision the runner shall be out.

26. USA approved bats only.

27. Bunts are allowed. Fake and swing is not allowed.

28. Pitcher’s mound will be set at 46 feet.

29. Bases will be set at 60 feet.

30. No blocking of a base or home plate without the ball.

31. shall be limited to 60 pitch maximum. If a pitcher throws greater than 20 pitches,

he must rest 24 hours. If a pitcher throws 50 pitches, he must rest 48 hours. Regardless of

pitch count, the maximum a pitcher may throw in any given game shall be 4 innings.

32. If a pitcher reaches the pitch count limit, he cannot finish the batter.

33. Once a pitcher is removed, he cannot pitch again in that game.

34. A pitcher must be removed after two batsmen in the same inning.

35. The second trip to the mound in the same inning requires the removal of that pitcher. 36. A 9 year old must pitch one complete inning in any of the first 3 innings. An inning consists

of 3 outs or 5 runs.

37. Dropped or third strikes will not be played.

38. Only one offensive timeout per inning is allowed.

39. Warm up pitches are limited to 10 for new pitchers and 5 between innings.

40. A courtesy runner is allowed for the catcher only. The courtesy runner should be the last

recorded out and the runner replaced must the next inning. This is to help speed up

play.

41. If a pitcher throws 41 or more pitches, that player cannot play the position of catcher that

calendar day. Any player that has played the position of catcher for 4 or more innings,

cannot pitch that calendar day.

42. 10 rule applies after 4 innings.

43. Violation of any pitching rules shall result in forfeiture.
