Ostroff Mission S tatement Israel Cancer Association USA (ICA USA) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization established in Palm Beach, Florida. Our mission is to raise funds for fellowship grants that support cancer research conducted by award-winning scien- tists at leading hospitals, universities and institutions throughout Israel. Uniquely, 100% of fellowship funding goes directly to the scientist – not the institution, nor for our overhead.

Israel Cancer Association (ICA) established in 1952, is the leading and largest health-related organization in Israel, but receives no government funding, depending entirely upon private donations.

is a Film Director best known for the Academy Award–winning animated feature “The Lion King.”

Rob was born & raised in Palo Alto, California, where his interest in drawing and was sparked by watching Super 8 mm cartoons, including Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty,” his father kept at his Audio Visual Center office, allowing him to study them one frame at a time.

He attended California Institute of the Arts in the program in 1980. That same year, he met legendary , , creator of “Pepe le Pew” and the “Road Runner & Coyote” (among many others), after a tribute to Mel Blanc at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

He was first given the opportunity to work at Disney as an Intern under the Mentorship of Disney Legend, , during the summer of 1982.

The following year, Rob was hired by Disney as an Inbetweener on “The Black Cauldron” (1985). He was then asked to design characters for “The Great Mouse Detective,” and afterward promoted to Supervising Animator (1986). He took time off from Disney to work as a character designer for “The Brave Little ” (1987). And then returned to Disney where he co-wrote the song “Good Company” for the film “Oliver & Company” (1988). Later, he joined the production team on “The Little Mermaid” (1989) where he designed the character of Ursula the Sea Witch.

Rob made his directorial debut with two Roger Rabbit shorts, “Tummy Trouble” (1989) and “Roller Coaster Rabbit” (1990). His first foray into Live-Action was with the theme park short, “Mickey’s Audition,” featuring Mel Brooks, which served as a pre-show for an attraction at the Disney-MGM Studio Tour (1992).

In 1992 Rob began working on Disney’s 32nd animated feature, “The Lion King,” with co-director, (1994).

Following the success of “The Lion King,” Rob left Disney to work with Columbia Pictures on the Stuart Little films, based on the books by E.B White. The films combined live-action with , marking an early effort in the combination of those mediums.

He returned to Disney for “The Haunted Mansion” starring Eddie Murphy (2003). Traveled to China for “” co-starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li (2008). And then returned to the world of animation for DreamWorks’ “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” (2014), a big screen adaptation of the cartoons that aired during the seminal 1960’s animated TV series, “The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.”

Rob is currently developing several projects, including “Blazing Samurai,” an animated retelling of Mel Brook’s classic comedy, “Blazing Saddles.” As well as “Wolf Totem,” an animated film adaptation of the best-selling Chinese novel.
