OSU believes he meets all the criteria of playing less than30 percent of the season before the injury. Rodgers plans to wait to make any decisions. He may or may not behealthy enough to work out for NFL scouts. "I'm feeling pretty good and positive about everything," he said."Once I get surgery, I'm going to hit the ground running (inrehab). I have a lot of time to think about that. I'll talk tocoach Riley and get his input on everything. And make my decisionwhen the time comes." Before practice, his brother, running back Jacquizz Rodgers, saidJames was relaxing at home, in good spirits and looking toreturn. "Hopefully, he gets that medical redshirt," Jacquizz said. "I thinkhe will (come back)." The Beavers will file a request with the Pac-10 about the medicalhardship waiver after the season. A decision will be made by schoolfaculty representatives during the Pac-10 basketball tournament inMarch. Filling in for OSU's all-time all-purpose yardage leader will bedifficult. James Rodgers was the deep threat, possession receiverand a dynamic returner on kickoffs and punts. Sophomore quarterback Ryan Katz will miss him most.
