CAST BIOS

DELTA BURKE (Dahlia) – Accomplished actress, author and producer, has been busy working on a number of television, film and theatre projects over the last year. Last season, she played Bella Horowitz, Denny Crane’s () former love interest in a five episode arc on ABC’s “Boston Legal” and appeared in Executive Producer David E. Kelley’s short-lived TV series “The Wedding Planners.” Last Christmas, Burke appeared as Mrs. Claus to ’s Santa in the NBC movie “The Year Without a Santa Claus.” On stage, she recently starred on Broadway in Steel Magnolias and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

An American beauty inside and out, Burke was a teenage pageant contestant in her home state of Florida, where she won 18 straight titles. In 1974, she represented Florida in the Miss America Pageant, where she won a talent scholarship that she used to attend the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

From London, Burke moved to , where she immediately began working. She starred in two mini-series: “” and “The Chisolms.” She followed those with starring roles in the series “Filthy Rich,” the HBO series “First and Ten” and an Emmy-nominated role as Suzanne Sugarbaker in “.” Subsequently, Burke formed her own production company, Perseverance, Inc., which produced the ABC series “Delta.” She also starred in and produced the series “” and later starred in a CBS movie of the week, “Love and Curses” with husband Gerald McRaney. Burke also had a recurring role on the series “Popular” and a guest role on Lifetime’s “Any Day Now” with her former “Designing Women” co-star .

Burke also had starring roles in “A Promise to Carolyn” on CBS and “Maternal Instincts” and “Melanie Darrow,” both on the USA Network. She starred in two movies for Lifetime television, “Going For Broke” and “Dangerous Child.” In theaters, she co-starred with in “What Women Want.”

Burke has also added author to her list of accomplishments. With the publication of “Delta Style: Eve Wasn’t A Size Six and Neither Am I!” in March 1998, she spoke to the millions of “real size” women as she told her life story, while providing motivational advice, humorous anecdotes and style tips.

The recipient of the 1995 Personal Style Award from the Dallas Fashion Industry, Burke is known and loved around the world for her acting and for her commitment to improving the quality of life for a wide range of individuals and groups. Through personal appearances, Burke travels extensively

to meet with and provide inspiration to her customers, helping them make choices to empower themselves and to help their dreams come true. Burke currently resides in Los Angeles. ###

ANDREA ROTH (Gwen) – Andrea Roth stars as Janet Gavin, Tommy Gavin’s estranged wife, in “Rescue Me,” the critically acclaimed drama on FX.

Born to Dutch/Scottish parents, Roth grew up as a first generation Canadian. While attending college and interning at a Toronto based advertising agency, Roth was approached by a top-modeling scout to pursue a career as a print and runway model. From there she quickly segued into acting, rapidly becoming one of Canada’s most prominent female actresses.

Roth has portrayed characters opposite such outstanding actors as Tobey Maguire, Woody Harrelson, John Corbett, and Jim Caviezel. She recently completed two feature films, “Rogue,” an action film starring Jet Li and “The Skeptic,” an independent thriller, starring opposite Tom Arnold and Tim Daly.

Among Roth’s many television credits, she has recurring roles on the hit shows, “CSI” and “Numbers.” She recently appeared in the television movies “Crazy for Christmas”, “Chasing Christmas” and the “Last Exit.” Next year she will join the cast of “Lost.”

MELINDA DEINES (Sandra) – Melinda Deines is a versatile performer who has extensive experience both on-camera and on-stage. She performed at the prestigious Stratford Festival in Stratford Ontario, playing Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Jenny in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Kitty in Pride and Prejudice, among other roles.

She has appeared in numerous plays and also performs as a dancer. She worked for several years with the Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company, and now is proud to be producing her own theatrical dance pieces as part of Franco Dance Studios, which she runs with her husband, Edgar Franco.

Deines has appeared in numerous television shows, but is best known as Juliet Street, the rebellious genius from Gene Roddenberry’s Earth: Final Conflict. Melinda is also a writer, and is continuing work on her first play, Clytemnestra’s Slaughterhouse. The piece was produced as a workshop in collaboration with Cahoots Theatre Projects and the Ontario Arts Council in September 2006, and will be mounted as a full production in 2008.
