The purpose of this code is to ensure that everyone at Downsend knows what is expected and realises its importance.

As a pupil at Downsend I will:
Make Downsend a happy place where everyone matters. Accept that, although I may not get on with everyone, I should not be unkind to anyone. Take care of the school environment and always respect other people’s property. Behave sensibly in class and respect the right of other children to learn. Be polite.

Always be honest. Give my best efforts even when I do not like something or find it difficult. Wear the correct uniform and take pride in my appearance. Be punctual and organised for lessons and appointments. Complete homework on time to the best of my ability.

TERM TIME ABSENCE If you require your child to be absent from school during term time please fill in an Application for Leave of Absence form, a minimum of 14 days before planned absence, for Mr Thorpe to approve. Copies are available on the website, in the office, and at the Turret.
