Juan José Mussi was borned in January 9, 1941. He is married and has three sons, Mariel (Doctor specialized in image diagnosis, Juan Pablo (Dentist) and Juan Patricio (Attorney).

Doctor of medicine, specialized in Clinical Medicine, both degrees granted by Medical Science Faculty of the National University of La Plata, he was hospital administrator of the Hospital Interzonal General de Agudos Gral. José de San Martín at La Plata City from 1973 to 1976. In 1974, he was granted a scholarship to travel to Italy, Spain and Switzerland since he was the youngest hospital administrator from the Province. He was Professor of Internal Medicine and University Specialist in Clinical Medicine of the Medical Science Faculty of La Plata. Moreover, he also performed as hospital administrator of Policlínico del Vidrio de Don Bosco. He was also an Ad- Honorem advisor to the Ministry of Health for the of from 1974 to1976.

He was appointed Minister of Health for the Buenos Aires Province from 1994 to 1999 by the province governor, . After seven years in office, he became the only officer in term for such period, having been in charge under two different administrations of the same ministry.

From 1963 to 1965, he was appointed Secretary of the Berazategui City Council, voted unanimously by the city council members. In 1973, he was candidate for Provincial Senator and in 1985 was candidate for Provincial Deputy.

In 1987, he was elected Mayor of Berazategui, reelected in 1991. During that period, he was elected as Representative of Justicialist Mayors in the Executive Board of the Forum of Buenos Aires Province Mayors. He was also appointed Representative for the Buenos Aires Province of the Argentine Federation of Cities (F.A.M).

In 1994, he was elected National Constituent Representative for the .

In 1999, he was elected National Deputy, but the Province Governor Carlos Ruckauf ratified his position as head of the Ministry of Health for Buenos Aires Province and he resigned to the seat.

On April 12º, 2002, he was appointed Secretary of Politic Affairs from the Ministry of Interior until November 30, 2003. Later, on December he became Mayor of Berazategui reelected once more in 2007.

Currently, he is representative of Mayors from the Third Electoral Section of the Justicialist Mayors Bloc from Buenos Aires Province. He also is General Secretary of the Justicialists Mayors Bloc of Buenos Aires Province and Member of the Executive Federal Bloc of Justicialists Mayors. Since 2000, he has been Secretary of Professionals, Technicians and Educators from the Justicialist Party of the Buenos Aires Province. He has been appointed Vice-president of COMCOSUR and President of the Justicialist Party of Berazategui since 1986 until now.

At present, he has been summoned by the president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to form part of the cabinet as head of Environmental and Sustainable Development Secretary.
