Dear Customer,
As you are aware we have not applied a fuel surcharge on any of our routes since the end of 2008 and during the past two years we have continued to absorb the various fluctuations in the cost of fuel.
To date this year the cost of fuel on our various routes has risen significantly, recent increases have been extremely worrying and are proving impossible for us to continue to absorb. It is therefore with sincere regret that we find ourselves with no alternative but to pass on some of this cost to our customers.
With effect from Monday 1st November we will therefore be reintroducing a fuel surcharge across all our Irish Sea routes as per the attached fuel surcharge matrix. This will be reviewed on a monthly basis and any adjustment will be reflected on our website at: www.poferriesfreight.com.
I hope you appreciate that during the past two years we have managed, through effective cost controls and business development, to maintain annual price stability for our customers. Unfortunately with continued volatility and recent increases to the cost of fuel it is regrettable that we can no longer maintain that policy.
