We are happy to have you join us for an informative and dynamic conference featuring high caliber analysts, energy executives, project developers, academics, and more. They will present their views on key developments and innovative solutions in the age of energy transitions with a special focus on Improved Oil Recovery (IOR). The conference opens with a market overview, followed by presentations and a panel on energy transitions by international energy companies. We will get more specifi c insight into IOR research and projects around the world. We will also hear how the rapid change of access to capital markets will impact energy companies and the supply industry. Several innovative companies from Norway will present cutting-edge technologies. Prior to her current posting, Ms. Skorpen served as head of the Section for Busi- ness Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Aff airs in Oslo. She held the position of Consul General in San Francisco from 2013 to 2017, serving the thirteen western most states of the US. She has previously served as Ambassador for disarmament and non-prolif- eration, and as Deputy Permanent Representative to the Norwegian Mission to the UN in Geneva. Previous postings include the Norwegian mission to NATO in Brussels and the Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She has also served as the Foreign Ministry’s Senior Faculty Advisor to the Norwegian National Defense College in Oslo. Ms. Skorpen earned a Ph.D. in Political Science and Interna- tional Relations at Boston University. Conference Moderator Kristine Klavers Senior Vice President, Consulting Americas – Argus Media Ms. Klavers is responsible for the Argus’ consulting business, which covers all energy commodities from crude, gas, products, and petrochemicals to fertilizers and metals. The Argus consulting team focuses on energy market analysis and technical due dili- gence supporting industry investment decisions. Ms. Klavers has more than 25 years of experience in consulting and is an expert on global fuels and refi ning. She serves as a member of the National Petroleum Council as appointed by the U.S. secretary of Energy. Prior to joining Argus, Ms. Klavers was in charge of Hart Energy’s research and consult- ing division, where she built their global presence, established the International Fuel Quality Center, and was publisher of FUEL Magazine. Previously she worked in the UK on the business management of oxygenated fuels for LyondellBasell, which acquired Arco Chemical in 1998, as well as a process engineer for Japanese Gasoline Company in Japan. Argus is an independent media organization. The organization is headquartered in London and has 22 offi ces in the world’s principal commodity trading and production centers. Argus produces price assessments and analysis of international energy and other commodity markets, and off ers bespoke consulting services and industry-lead- ing conferences. Norway has been represented in the South Central Region of the United States since it opened its fi rst Honorary Vice Consulate in New Orleans in 1906.
