Union dining changes to be voted upon later this month, installed in August ByErkUgatta Reporter To increase variety, options and space, the Union will experience an overhaul before this fall. The plan is to "rip it out" and "start over," with an anticipated opening day of Aug. 10, said Mike Paulus, director of Dining Services. The project would be self-funded by Dining Services and would not raise student tuition. The Falcon's Nest will be completely renovated and three new venues will be added, he said. A dining advisory board, consisting of 25 people who reached out to 642 students to vote, selected the top three choices the students voted for, Paulus said. The top three were Chick-fll-A. Papa John's and Panda Express, which may replace Wendy's, 2.Mato 2.Night and Zona Mexicana, respectively. Wendy's contract expires in May, Paulus said. The three venues are not yet official, he said. Updated: 18 April 2021 ~ 0 ~ z FORWARD This work has been assembled by me from many sources including some related to me verbally. As it says on the cover, they can be tales or myths or legends and possibly sometimes of dubious validity. This has been put together less as a history lesson in some cases, and more as a celebration of what small town life was and still is to some degree. I have decided to not use real names in a few circumstances for various reasons. I don’t consider this a work of fiction for the most part, nor of total fact in a few cases. It was collected mainly for the enjoyment of any former or present Paw Paw resident, or anyone else with ties to the community. Several people have been instrumental in helping this work get into print. The Paw Paw District Library, the Harry Bush family, and most of all Dan Smith, PPHS-63 who has placed it on his pawpawwappaw.com website, and has really spent a lot of time finding candidates for the book, and pictures of them. He also has done a lot to make this work look professional. Thanks to all. Generating Relative Pick Value in the NBA Draft and Predicting Success from College Basketball A Major Qualifying Project Report: submitted to the faculty of the WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science by ____________________ Michael Krebs ____________________ Jake Scheide Date: Approved: _______________________ Professor Craig Wills, Major Advisor MQP-CEW-1901 Abstract This project analyzes existing basketball player performance metrics, and generates new metrics providing context behind player statistics. Using these metrics, we create a chart quantifying the value of each pick in the NBA Draft. Finally, we create machine learning models that predict the likelihood of NBA success for NCAA student-athletes. i Acknowledgements We would like to thank Professor Wills for his encouragement of us to apply our technical backgrounds to our shared love for basketball. We would also like to thank the staff at basketball-reference.com, as their extensive database of college and NBA players made this project possible. We would finally like to thank Jimmy Johnson, Kevin Pelton, Dr. Aaron Barzilai, and the numerous other analysts who’s work informed our own, providing guidance and comparisons. We hope our work will make a meaningful contribution to the growing body of literature involving sports data mining. ii Table of Contents Abstract ...........................................................................................................................................
