Flora Mediterranea 6 - 1996 213 Maretta Colasante TaXODomic Dote OD some ltaliaD Bearded Irises: Iris re lieta Colas. Dom. DOV. aDd Iris bieapitata Colas. sp. DOV. Abstract Colasante, M.: Taxonomic note on some Italian Bearded Irises: Iris relicta Colas. nom. nov. and Iris bicapitata Colas. sp. nov. - FI. Medi!. 6: 213-217. 1996 - ISSN 1120-4052. The difficulties in the subdivision of infragenerie taxa in Iris L. have ereatcd great taxonomie prob1ems even at thc level of nOlllenclaturai and taxonolllie synonymies. The eases of I. suaveolens (N. Terrace.) N. Terraee. ex A. Terracc. and /. bif/ora L. sensu Petagna are here ana1yscd. Then, /. relicta Colas. nOlll. nov. and /. bicapitata sp. nov. are proposed. Introduction The genus Iris L. shows notable variation in different classifications of super-specific taxa (Linnaeus 1753, Dykes 1913, Lawrence 1953, Rodionenko 1961, Mathew 1981), so much that some of them have been removed from it and elevated to the rank of new genera in their own right (Rodionenko 1961). At specific and subspecific level, the Italian Bearded Irises (subgenus Iris Section Iris, according to Mathew 1981), present several both systematic and nomenclatural problems. Regarding the nomenclatural level, recent research has shown that the bibliographic data, in reference to some taxa are often not very precise in origin and therefore many entities of uncertain taxonomic status have been commonly listed in Floras, Monographs, and in speci1'ic papers (Petagna 1787, Terracciano N. 1890, 1899, Terracciano A. 1894, Beguinot 1897, Ciferri & Giacomini 1950, Ricci 1958, Werckmeister 1967, Colasante 1976-77, Colasante 1989, Colasante & al. 1989, Bianco 1991, etc.). -

MUĞLA İLİ ÇEVRESİNİN GAGEA SALISB TÜRLERİ Ramazan
Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi 8(1) Afyon Kocatepe University FEN BİLİMLERİ DERGİSİ JOURNAL OF SCIENCE MUĞLA İLİ ÇEVRESİNİN GAGEA SALISB TÜRLERİ Ramazan MAMMADOV*, Pınar İLİ* *Pamukkale Üniversitesi, Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi, Biyoloji Bölümü, 20017, Kınıklı, Denizli, Türkiye. GAGEA SALISB SPECIES AROUND MUĞLA PROVINCE ABSTRACT Turkey is one of the richest countries in terms of flora in Europea and Middle East. The aim of this study, to arouse the interest to Gagea Salisb species which is part of our flora. Therefore, Gagea species was investigated around Muğla province in 2000-2006. -

Southwest Turkey A Greentours Trip Report 21st March – 2nd April 2010 Led by Başak Gardner Day 1 Journey to Antalya 21.03.10 I met the group at the airport and directly drove to the hotel. It was around 10 pm. Day 2 Journey to Ibradı 22.03.10 With good news from the meteorology the tour started. Alpine Swifts were flying around and Yellow-vented Bulbuls were singing from the roof as we were having our breakfast by the pool. A very short visit to the bank to change and get some money gave a chance for the group to take some pictures of the castle walls and gate. We even did some botanizing. The walls of the very old houses in the old town were almost covered by Cymbalaria longipes. We were on the road before 10 am and our first stop was by a graveyard where Pyrus serikensis, which is an endangered endemic pear tree, was in full bloom. But the main plant we were looking for was a bit over, however we managed to find some fresh reticulately-patterned Iris masia. Along with these were some Muscari comosum, Anemone coronaria and a single plant of Gladiolus italicus. Val spotted our first butterfly an Eastern Festoon and both Large White and Orange Tip were also seen as well as Danford’s Lizard. We made another stop both to have lunch and to look for some Ophrys. Along an old track by the picnic site we encountered many Ophrys mammosa spikes in good flower. We had a good lunch with some Turkish tea our driver prepared for us among the Bellis annua flowers. -
ABSTRACT: Liliaceae family into Jaen province. An updated catalog of the Liliaceae family in Jaén province is presented, with bibliographic and testimonial base –Herbario JAEN-. KEY WORDS: Liliaceae, taxons, Jaén province. -

The main objective of this study is to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of ethanol solution extracts of G. dubia A. Terracc. on nineteen gram positive and negative bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus faecalis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella kentucky, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas fluorescens) and one fungi (Candida albicans). Different parts (flowers, leaves, stems, and roots) of Gagea dubia samples, were extracted with 80% ethanol solution. These extracts were tested in vitro for their antimicrobial activity against 15 microorganism by disk diffusion (DD) and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) tests. Ethanol extracts showed antimicrobial activity against some bacteria. According to the results of disk diffusion test G. dubia have effect on four bacteria (B. subtilis, S. aureus, L. innocua and E. durans) and (C. albicans) and didn’t show effect on other microorganisms. The antibacterial effect observed in 10 µL extract of G.dubia against B. subtilis, S. aureus, L.innocua with 7,66; 13 and 9 mm zone diameter respectively and 50 µL extract of G. dubia against E.durans with 11 mm zone diameter. G. dubia extract show antimicrobial activity at three concentration (10;50 and 100 µL) against C.
