Protect the natural world Program Outline The journey based program takes students to the next level with a strong emphasis on leadership, social responsibility and protecting the natural world. The journey is broken into 4 legs; (note groups can start their journey at each leg to account for multiple groups) 1. Bush walk-students will have the opportunity to experience the magnificence of the Blue Mountains National Park. The walk takes students to the top of Grose Head South with views deep into the Grose Valley and Devils Wilderness. It then descends into the Blue Gum Swamp. After a short ascent student’s will now navigate through untracked terrain to meet with the Nepean River. 2. Canoe - Nepean River of mostly flat water with a few pebble racers for added value. After passing the Yarramundi Bridge the paddlers meet the junction of the Grose River and proceed upstream to Camp Yarramundi. 3. River walk- Students will continue their journey up the Grose River. This is a challenging walk through ankle and waist deep water with the occasional swimming hole. The walk finishes with a short ascent to the Deeimba Camp Ground. 4. Exploring the cliff faces and rock formations on the Deeimba property bordering the Blue Mountains National Park.
