Con gli 11 brani di “Turn Up That Dial”, i Dropkick Murphys celebrano soprattutto il piacere della musica, il sollievo e il conforto che questa offre non appena “alzi il volume”, spazzando via i problemi: “Il tema centrale di questo album è l’importanza della musica, e le band che ci hanno resi quello che siamo adesso”, ha spiegato il fondatore dei Ken Casey. Sul palco di Jesolo il gruppo porterà tutti i propri successi, tra cui la celebre “I’m Shipping Up to Boston”, canzone inclusa nel film “The Departed – Il bene e il male”, diretto da Martin Scorsese, con Leonardo DiCaprio e Jack Nicholson, capace di vendere oltre un milione di copie. I Dropkick Murphys sono stati protagonisti nel maggio 2020 di uno storico live streaming al Fenway Park di Boston, il primo evento musicale in assoluto senza un pubblico di persona in un importante impianto sportivo degli Stati Uniti. Anche Bruce Springsteen si è unito per due canzoni, “Rose Tattoo” dei Dropkick e il suo pezzo “American Land”. L’evento ha permesso di raccogliere 700.000 dollari poi donati agli ospedali della città di Boston. Ad impreziosire l’evento del 4 febbraio a Jesolo ci sarà il support act dei The Interrupters, band ska punk di Los Angeles con oltre 10 anni di attività. Danach mussten auch die Dropkick Murphys die Bühnen dieser Welt räumen und ihre pandemiebedingte Konzertpause einlegen. Eingenistet im Studio versuchten die Folk-Rocker aus Quincy, Massachusetts, diese entstandene Lücke zu überbrücken und nahmen mitreißende Hymnen auf, wie sie es bereits im Gründungsjahr 1996 taten. Daraus entsprungen ist das frisch veröffentlichte und mittlerweile zehnte Studioalbum „Turn Up That Dial“, welches sich mit drei Jahren Abstand hinter dem Vorgänger „11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory“ in die Diskografie der Band einreiht. Neue Musik möchte bekanntlich auch live präsentiert werden. So haben die Dropkick Murphys nun bekanntgegeben, dass sie im Frühjahr 2022 im Rahmen ihrer „Turn Up That Dial“-Tour auch acht Konzerte in Deutschland spielen. Im Vorfeld erschien bereits die erste Single „Queen Of Suffolk County“, die vorab ein Ohr auf das gewährte, was die Dropkick Murphys da in den vergangenen Monaten in ihrem Studio gewerkelt haben. Die Single lässt erahnen, dass die Musiker mit ihrem neuen Werk so explosiv zurückkehren, wie man es von ihnen gewohnt ist und dabei einen lauten musikalischen Knall hinterlassen. Gleichzeitig treten die Folk-Rocker auf „Turn Up That Dial“ eine ganz konkrete Mission an: Sie wollen mit ihrer Musik Sorgen verschwinden lassen.
